Default A4 Guys, does your shifter handle wobble?

lol Ya know, I'm not sure if this is just a Firebird thing (due to how the handle design is) or what, but my 91 and 93 BOTH wobble (like kinda twist). It doesn't exactly bug me, I normally am making noise with it to the beat of whatever I'm listening too I just want to know if I lucked out (see: unlucked out) twice in a row, or if it's a common thing...

heh Well that makes me feel a little better. Wonder if there's an aftermarket like a B&M style for M6, for us A4 guys? Problem is the 'button' to shift I have one, I might think about machining a hole in it and see what I can conjure up heh

Well the Camaro shifters have heavy duty staples that hold them in place, I wonder if the Firebird's are similar, and if so maybe the staple is loose or worn? *shrug*

My buddy bought a Camaro one for the S10 V8 project and I had a good look at that style. He actually was having problems with the button not shifting it heh, I just removed the staple, pounding down the **** more, inserted staple again and it was like it was supposed to be. That's a top button Camaro style, again not my cup of tea :\ I really like that one from Steeda. I posted a redirect in the LT1 forum and liek I said there, had I the money to toss around I'd buy that in an instant and see what I could do with it.

I don't know, maybe I'll email them.

The Firebird's auto shift **** also is secured with a staple just like the Camaro.

lol I didn't even know the put boots on the A4s.

My buddies issue simple was the fact the **** wasn't seated in the correct place. Works perfect since I put it down where it should be.

If that clip is in, shouldn't move. Check and see if that clip is in, its on the front of the shifter under the T part. If some one took the console out, they may have just forgotten to reintall it. It comes out easy with a flat head screw driver, to get a new one in, you just tap it in with a small rubber mallet or hammer.

Yea, that clip = staple. At least on the Camaro's, and people above's. Anyways, I'm sure it's in, my 91 did it too. I'll look today when I go out.

Found a couple aftermarket shift *****. Some of you might be interested. I'd like to get the first one if it'll fit my car.

I thank the attempt Kale, but I like the T-Handle better. I wish that Mustang one would work, and/or that company would get back to me -_- The red one, too ugly, the "Carbon Fiber" too cheap and ricer :\
