how to spot a fake WS6
Im sure has been done to death but I am new here. I am looking for a 98 to 02 trans am. What are some ways to tell if its a real WS6 car? What was all included in the WS6 besides ram air, was there any suspension improvments ect.

If you can only look via pictures then check for the WS.6 badge below the passenger tail light (if I'm not mistaken since I don't own such a beauty). Most people who knock off the WS.6 TAs only get the hood I've noticed, no badges.

Check for the WS6 option code on the service parts decal inside the driver's side door or in the glove box. Failing that take the VIN number to a dealer and have them run a check for warranty records. That should also provide a list of all the options the car was built with, as well as the dealership it was delivered to and its origional in service date.

WHO CARES!!!??? If it's a WS6 great, if it is a Trans Am, so what? I have a Trans Am with a U.S Exotics superhawk hood. WS6 to me is a waste of money if you are gonna mod it and A regular trans am is too bland for me. So I got the best of both worlds.

i found a place online (hawks 3rd gen parts) that sells the pair for $50 shipped..
i know they arent the real GM ones, but who's gonna know the difference....
and FWIW i'm not calling mine a WS6 or trying to fake a WS6 (not going to do the badge), as they didnt even make a WS6 in 95 i just like the ram air and when i bought mine back in 04, a 96-97 WS6 was going for $10-$12k easily... and i only paid $6k for my car with lower miles than most of the WS6's i saw....and like the guy who posted above, i wanted certain things different than what the WS6 had and i would have had to pay for those and then replace them... specifically I'm talking about my wheels

The VIN wont tell you anything. Unless you are running through GM's system, just look at the door codes...
