Question Why did you choose your TA?

Why did you go for the Ram Air WS6? I have located a "barn" WS6 with only 19k miles on her. Their asking 18k, if I could get it for 14k (KBB value) I'll probably go for it. I've been partial to the SS but I like the aggressive styling of the TA. It's got to be the meanest looking car on the road.
I'm also a Smokey and the bandit fan, so thats all the more reason to go for the bird.

Actually kids love my car... haha not that you were being serious.

Why did I get this car though?
It has an LS1, with a T56
It looks sweet
Chicks dig it
It's rare

I got a Formula instead because it screams Performance Sleeper instead of "HEY, LOOK AT ME!". And because of the "HEY, LOOK AT ME!" factor, most people automatically won't race you. However, it's not because of it's "I'm about to stomp your face in" styling, but the fact everyone knows it by that look.

I doubt you'll get kbb for it. They don't seem to do a good job in estimating value of our cars. The real value is what people will pay for it. KBB is only about $9k for my car and I paid $10,500 for it and that was a smokin' deal. Similar cars were selling for $12-14k on eBay and elsewhere.

When I bought mine in 99, I didnt qualify for the WS6 so I ended up with my Formula which turned out to be better as every other fbody at the time was a NBM WS6. I just wanted an LS1, Ttops and an M6.

NADA is simply what the bank will loan you. Depreciation pwns all. It is 7 years old, with gas prices as it is and living in a state that's going to get snow in 4 months. Good luck selling it for that price.

It depends on who you bank with, how well they know you and how good your credit score is...I have borrowed way more than NADA on a few exceptional cars. NADA is a guide and should be used as such. A car thats had the hell beat out of it its whole life is not worth even the low range of NADA and an exception car with low miles and desirable features is worth more...plane and simple. But with that said the value of anything is set by two factors...what someone is willing to sell it for and what someone is willing to pay for it.

could have had something to do with knight rider or smokey and the bandit...

I test drove a silver one and was like "i like it, but i want black" mine came up in the autotrader a week later (and ended up being only $500 more, with 20k less miles, and a 1 owner car from a private seller VS an unknown car at a used car lot with obvious signs of abuse, ie steel braded hose lines in the back that most likely had a N2O bottle at one point)

honestly, the TA was the best deal out there at the time for me (also looked at half a dozen Camaros). But I'm VERY glad I got the TA- love the looks, although I'm a bit tired of Knight Rider comments!

Knight Rider got me into Trans Ams. I built a Knight Rider conversion and owned both my KR conversion and LS1 for about 1.5 years till I sold the conversion for a down payment on a house. Yeah, I'm a Knight Rider nerd.
