headlight solutions... Hey, I bought my car a little less than a month ago and Ive been on a quest to make it as light as possible ever since. At the same time I have also been making a concious effort to move the weight distribution as far back as i can. I had the headlights out a little while ago and damn those things are heavy. They must be 10-15 pounds a piece if not more. Has anyone done anything to cut back the weight? I was thinking of removing the assembly/motors and maby just moving them manually?

Ive seen the fixed lights too but yeah the only ones I have come across were all in the 1K range, which is a lot more than I am looking to spend.
As far as lifting them up manually it really wouldnt bother me at all. As it is, I already have to pop the hood, then pop up the lights, then go out and close the hood.

my rear seat is already non-existant. The headlights are of particular interest to me because they are up front, which is the last place i want weight. On top of that they are past the front axle.
As I have already said, I already have to get out of the car to shut my hood every time I need to pop the headlights, so it doesnt matter. I know some people wouldnt want to have to go to the trouble of doing this but it does not bother me at all. I would rather lose 20 or 30 pounds. I am not asking if people think i should or shouldnt do it, I am interested in if it has been done.
