I would have to say Vector Motorsports (VMS) does. They've been getting the most power out of their tunes from what I've seen on the G8 boards, outside of other independent tuners. They have many different versions, including modded tunes for CAI, LT headers, etc. You can even get a stealth tune thats supposed to fool dealerships, or even buy a whole new ECM.

In the event you do a mod and are in need of a retune, it's only $100 for the retune.

They even do a Flash Xpress TCM tuner rental for like $75, plus deposit that gets paid back. They've built themselves into one of the best by their tuning qualities.

I concur, VMS has a very good tune.

Plus the fact that they are the only one, right now, who can tune the TCM via email with the Flash Xpress makes them the best bet for a mail order tune.

It probably is, but, I really like my SC Cortex. I have the ability to change torque shift management, octane tune and can change back to stock if I need to. I just like the ability to alter whats needed at the time. SC's only has a 91 octane now, but, are in the process of working on a 93 which I'm patiently waiting on. Its easy to program and when SC's makes changes you can download to your computer and right into your tuner and straight to your g8. I don't think it makes as much power as VMS, but, believe me its a very different g8 then you bought stock. I highly recommend it and just 3 days left for the g8 group buy thats offered on the g8 board. Good luck in your decision.

Hmm...question. Which is a better mail order tune if you have the VCM CAI and American Racing Headers?

The SC is fine for a stock car, but once you mod anything you are losing out on power bigtime! I did back to back dyno's and the SC just can't handle mods, not even boltons.

I am not impressed with the Superchips tuning package. They change very little to the actual ECM or TCM tunes. I dynoed a guy the other day with Doug Thorley headers and the Superchips tune. We picked up 16rwhp and 20 rwtq with the tune.

VMS tune is much more comprehensive than the Superchips tune.

I have a VMS tune and it works great. I have the flash cable so I can go back to stock. With the VMS you get 2 tcm tunes,I am running stage 2,hits really hard in sport. But very tame in drive. Kirk will also email updates as you mod.

I have the VMS tune as well. The car is way more responsive than it was before. The trans tune makes a huge differance. I have the flash cable and anytime I need a new tune Kirk just emails it to me. It only takes a couple minutes to flash and can be flashed back to stock at any time if you need to take it in for warranty work. I will be going with a dyno tune when I install my cam.

I've heard good things from VMS. Personally, I am very happy with my Livernois Tune...I have a lot of parameters adjusted, and when I want something added or removed(AFM on/off), new wheel/tire combination to fix speedo, etc...Rick & Dan are quick to adjust it and send me the new file. I have no complaints, both are a good system I believe.

Vector Motorsports or livernois motorsports, you can't go wrong with any of them. Top much mail order tuners.

You can do the same with the Vector Powercal cable. All you have to do is submit your request for updated calibrations, within 24hrs you have them.
