FTI Torque Converter Track Results!!
I was finally able to get to the track last night to do some testing with my new FTI 3600 stall converter.
My previous best run when the car was completely bone stock was 13.8XX @ 100 with a 2.0 60'.
Best run of the night last night was 13.072 @ 103.90 with a 1.813 60'! Backed it up with a 13.073 @ 102.36 and a 1.807 60'!!! I had a few other 13.doh runs, and a few 13.1's... also got a best 60' of 1.782
This is with a stock intake, stock exhaust, stock tune! .8 gain in the 1/4 with just the FTI Converter and a pair of 18" drag radials! The weather was about the same as when I ran stock, so these results are not skewed in any way.
I am real impressed, to say the least, with the FTI converter.

Even if the Drag Radials were good for 2-3 tenths 5 tenths with the converter would still be pretty impressive! Nice Results Rich will prob be getting ahold of you here soon to buy one of these.
Just a quick question. Any major change as far as day to day street driving with the 3600? Would you recommend the 3200 over the 3600 if the car will be seeing more of the street than strip?
Thanks Shawn

Shawn-
TurboAv is right on. My car is daily driven, and it drives like a dream on the street while at part throttle. But drop the hammer and its on. I do not regret going with a 3600 at all.
Whenever you are ready, just give us a call, we will take care of you.

after driving the G8 stock and G8 with the FTI converter, i completely agree with your post and it doesnt surprise me one bit that it went that much quicker/faster. its the perfect balance of performance and daily drivability. a converter and tune would be my first two mods on a G8 if i ever bought one.

This thread has my interest peaked, as I'm most likely picking up a G8 GT this week.

I must say though I REALLY love my G8. I have had it for over a year now, which really says something considering my average 6-9 month span of owning vehicles.
As far as this post is concerned, I'm with Tony as far as the "loose" feeling with cars that have converters. I would have to drive one with a converter in it before taking the plunge on one.

Was that you in the "888 G8" gray car? Too funny. I actually test drove the one I'm buying the day before. They do look HUGE next to a Z06. My new job is 90 miles per day on the road, want something more comfortable than my dually. BW8 is pretty bouncy in that truck.

That was me
This car has to be one of the best daily drivers I have ever had. I average 21mpg every tank, (mixed city and hwy) have room for 5 people comfortably, and it runs low 13's without making a sound

Awesome results, OP. What tires were you running with the converter?
Nine Ball, after driving my brother's G8 GT quite a bit recently, I would honestly be shocked if anyone used to American cars bought one for a DD and was NOT happy with it (in just about every department from comfort to space to performance). Plus it cracked out a 13.5 @ 102 bone stock with about 250 miles on it. What color are you looking to get? Gotta be something to compliment those two in your sig.
BTW, I like the review you guys did on PlanetLSX of the G8. It was spot on.

Which stall rpm did you drive? Honestly, anything over 3200 in a street car scares me. I can't stand the loose/disconnected feel of a converter. But, that also depends on brands too.
