AGREED.

All the G8 needs is a TVS 2300, headers, and tune.
Maybe some CCW wheels.
$18k "packages" are not necessary.

This is definitely a sore subject. Personally, it makes me pretty upset. SLP themselves **** me off. You know what they want for two mufflers and two exhaust tips for a G8? $625! You know what they want for two pieces of 2' Stainless pipe and two exhaust tips? $400! Absolutely ridiculous.

Well, in their defense, its not just a blower. Special wheels, Exhaust (mufflers), Special paint job, Better suspension, Special interior. Also, your still getting a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty, plus another warranty (cant remember what) from SLP themselves. You guys who added your own said $6000 supercharger, your warranty is obviously history.
But, is $18,995 still too much damn money? Absolutely.

MSRP for brand new G8 GT: Approx. $33,000
SLP Firehawk Package: +$18,995
Optional Firehawk Brake upgrade: +$4,995
Total: $56,990

Sorry, but thats just too much money for any new Pontiac.

They shouldn't have used the Firehawk name. It's only for Firebirds.

They could have saved themselves a lot of trouble by simply and more rightly so naming the car the SLP G8.

It probably won't matter... supposedly in a few days... GM is going to announce the demise of the Pontiac moniker.
