I have the Rotofab and love it, very good looking unit and performs very well. The Vararam unit out performs the Rotofab apparently in the higher speeds because it's location. I don't know for sure. I like the look of the Vararam in front of the engine but the big gaping hole to the right of the engine where the stock airbox was looks a bit strange. When your talking intakes everyone will have there own version of what is better, bottom line is you looking very small hp difference between them (not enough to feel or notice) so personal preference is where it comes in to play more then anything.

I got the Vararam on my '09 G8 GT only because it outperformed the Rotofab. But Compg is right, it does look funny with that big hole there where the stock airbox used to be. Rotofab is a great looking intake though.

I had a New Era side mount then I bought a Vararam. The Vararam seems to draw more air than others esp above 50mph.

I'd agree with that statement.

also, when installing it, do you have to lean back the radiator like you do with the vararam? i see pictures of the new era and in some, it looks like its sitting on top of the radiator and in others, it looks like its set deeper and further back, much closer to the throttle body.

The VCM OTR has an optinal panel to cover the gaping hole.

Roto-fab or AFE seem to work well and gain more power on the dyno, track results don't seem too shabby either. Too many issues with Vararam, I tried it and sold it.

I have the Vararam and it seems to make a huge difference. This filter will require frequent cleaning due to the mass amount of bugs that will get sucked into it.

Also this involves the removal of your upper rad mounting tabs so you rad is free floating. It has caused my lower bushings to deform because of the weird angle the rad now sits at. Also the rad moves back and forth a lot in the car.

I have the New Era and have never had any issues with it. It does tilt the radiator back like the vararam. I have been thinking about selling it to go with the VCM intake. If you want a good price on one send me a PM.

I have a roto fab. I went from a 13.7 something to a 13.29. Easy install and no problems in the rain.

I'm thinking about getting the roto-fab intake.
