The G8 GT is = to the Chevrolet Lumina/Holden Commodore overseas, why not just get that?

The Chevrolet Caprice is based off Holdens Statesman and it's only supposed to be for police vehicles in the states, no mention of it coming as a passenger car.

It's going to be released as a police car only, if it is released at all.

Yeah it's coming as a police car, and I bet we'll see something based on that car in the chevy lineup for it's next generation. But that's definitely not next year. 2014 at the earliest for sure.

i really wanted to get her the Lumina SS. i want to get her something fun and sporty and lsx based thats RWD thats NOT a camaro. CTS-v is a little too flashy and fancy for a 23 yo

i woulda gotten a brand new gxp for her if they still made the g8. stupidest thing GM did was kill Pontiac. it coulda been salvaged all they woulda had to do was bring back the Grand Am, Grand Prix, Sunfire, and made em sporty... done

I'd go after a certified used G8 or CTS-V, IMO.

I agree, you can get a G8 GT so cheap right now and most of them are still practically brand new with plenty of warranty time left.

That was the problem was those cars. They were cheap and except the Grand Prix weren't good cars. The higher dollar spending people refused to buy them because they were cheapo. Pontiac had a bad reliability image with alot of people. Not necessarily true but it was what people thought. That's what killed Pontiac.

i guess im just a pontiac nutswinger, but look how many grand prix and grand ams therea re on the road. then they designed the g6 and the new grand prix and didnt offer it in a 2 door im thinking giving the brand 2 more years brining back all the things that bad pontiac exciting coulda made a big difference

I agree they sell alot of them. i've had my own Grand Prix and my dad's place makes a killing selling them used. I think they sell great but it's the image they have as cheap peices of crap even if it's not as much true. I know people that have said they would never buy a grand prix but would love and impala which are essentially the same damn car internally. They say the Pontiacs are junk and the Impala is great. Even if they are basically the same

there are a ton of 09 g8's out there with super low miles if you know where to look.

I picked up a GXP for a steal a couple weeks back.

If GM decides to bring this back, by the time they do, if you still want a new car, trade it in.
