I've had my G8 GT almost 2 months now. Took it to the track and best time was 13.90@ 100.34mph. Some of y'alls stock numbers I've seen at 13.5 or 13.6 stock. What am I doing wrong? or what is the problem? I've only had it in drive with traction control off. Let me know what's up

what the 60 ft time . How how was it and whats the da. I mean if you cut a 2.0 60 ft id say it was hot there and bad da. A tuner or a tune and cai and axle back for sound should get that down a bunch .

My 60 ft was 2.13, i'm in houston and it was about mid 80's. I'm looking to get a corsa catback with a weapon-r cai. What would be a better tune? Hp tuners, diablo, or dyno tune?

Get a better CAI. Go with a roto-fab or vararam. DO a dyno tune it will make the most improvement. The trans tune needs the most work. Headers make a big improvement as well. I ran 12.9 @ 110 with full exhaust, intake, tune.

A fellow houston G8er. Welcome. What part of Houston and what color is your car? Check out grrrr8.net and the Texas section. There are a lot of us from Houston on there and we have monthly meets.

Did you run at HRP or Lonestar? 13.9 sounds about right for hot humid mid 80s houston weather. PRobably close to 2000 DA. Try going back now in some cooler temps(50s-60s).

One more tip with a stock G8. Run it in sport mode(traction control off of course) and once it shifts into 3rd(or around 80mph) pull the shifter down to manual to hold it in 3rd thru the traps. That should help you pickup an extra .1 or .2.

Colder weather and holding it in 3rd and I bet you'll see a 13.6.

Oh and take it to PatrickG for a dyno tune. Its a little drive but worth it.

@2quik4u I don't like the vararam set up with the air box that sits on top of the radiator, that would take in too much heat. What's makes the roto-fab better than the weapon-r?
and a 12.9@ 110, it should be in the mid 12's

@fiveoh thanks dude, my car is hot white and I stay on the southside of town. I go to HRP, I like it better there. Where do yall meet at, and where might I find this PatrickG?

I don't really think the Vararam inducts heat into the motor more than the Rotofab. It is just not well built and requires constant cleaning. I could raise a yard of chickens off all the bugs I get from cleaning the filter. It is not cool that the rad not free floats either.

Patrick is everywhere. JK. But he is worth the drive. No better performance per $$ mod on your G8.

The meets change every month. They post up the locations/times on the grrrr8.net forum.

PatrickG is on here(hes the moderator for this section of the board and goes by that user name), send him a pm about tuning. He's in victoria but its worth the drive.
