Default Axle back slightly louder than stock

Hi guys, I'm looking to make my daily driver just a hair louder. I don't want it to drone. What axle back would you guys recommend? I do have a pair of 3" Borla XR1 mufflers laying around from my Nova I could weld in with the stock tips. But I would rather spend a couple bucks and just bolt something on.

Thanks for any advise.

XR1 mufflers arent really loud. You can install them and just dump them half way.

I am having a hard time justifying the price of these used gxp mufflers.
those slp powerflos seem like a nice setup. I will have to look up some youtube vids to see how they sound.

GXPs are great for the sleeper, but in my opinion they are too quiet on daily driving. I don't want drone, but I do want to hear the car on light accelleration still. GXP at WOT sound awsome though, nascar good.

SLPs give you a little sound on accelleration, and good sound on WOT.

Here are my SLPs, mated with Kooks LTs.

I have magnaflows now, with the same Kooks LTs.

There is some drone. I have 3.45 gears, so I am out of that drone zone at highway speeds, but those with stock 2.92 gears will get it once and a while.

Has anyone replaced just the mid pipe with an x pipe and got rid of the mid muffler and resonators? I wonder how that would sound with the stock mufflers.

It'll still sound like stock. When I put my stock mufflers on, nobody knows I have LT's and a X pipe (nice sleeper). I think you'll like the GXP mufflers...they're quiet when you want them to be and nice and raspy when you go WOT.

If you have headers and X pipe then stock GXP mufflers are NOT too quiet for daily driving. Your car will get noticed by other people including cops.

+1 on the Solos. That's what I had before my current set up and I was impressed. They are a nicely made axle back and do not drone at all. The only thing is that no matter which axle back you go with, you will notice when AFM kicks in and to me it was annoying. Not so much driving around town, but on the highway I had to put it in M6 to disable it.

I like the sound of the solo's too, but they are too loud for my taste. Loud and proud= the Chevy II for me! This car is my daily driver. I ended up ordering the magnaflow axle back. If the drone is too much then I will just sell them and put it back to stock. Thanks for the input guys, I will report back with the results.

Default Corsa Cat-Back mismatch

I purchased the Corsa Cat-back exhaust in January. Went to have it installed just to find out the Corsa doesn't fit with the ARH headers and high-flow cats already installed. Can't return them - over 30 days. Now what?
Advice welcome

Kooks sells a connection piece that goes from thier headers to Corsa, might work with ARH also.

Here is the link from Maryland Speed:
