Default Gains from DoD Delete and GM Camshafts

I am curious to see what you guys have gained from doing a DoD Delete and using a GM Camshaft (LS6, LS9, LS7, etc.). Recently swapped my L76 cam for an LS7 during my DoD delete and picked up 40 HP to the tire. Just curious what everyone else was gaining utilizing factory style bump sticks.

Did you notice any low end loss with the ls7 cam? I'm thinking of doing the same swap.

Slight losses below 3500 but not drastic.

Ok was that the same dyno before and after. Not saying I don't believe you but 40hp gain is a lot for just ls7 cam. Do you have headers?

Same dyno, Mustang MD-800. No headers, just K&N and gutted cats.

Can you provide more information on your setup? Pushrod length, dyno graph, drivability, etc.

Stock LS2 pushrods, drives great. Anything else you'd like to know let me know.

I keep telling myself...aftermarket parts for one car only but the G8 is nearly paid off and having ~400rwhp for a DD is very tempting

But as a DD it has 107k miles and two check engine lights (pass airbag & bad tire psi sensor)...FML

An airbag light and a TPMS light aren't the same thing as a check engine light.

EFX_DAVE: Thanks for the information. I have a LS7 cam and lifters sitting on my shelf (change in plans from another vehicle) and I was wondering how it would behave in my G8. I searched a couple of weeks ago but found only one or two guys who did this swap with little information. This doesn't seem to be very popular and I have no idea why. It looks like a great budget alternative for a mild daily driver.

Lol thanks for clearing it up for me.

I had the same problem before I did mine, little to no information on the use of that cam on other engines. Works fine for me and I'm very happy.
