Default NO decent aftermarket wheel options!!

I had picked out a set of 20's that I wanted for my G8 only to find out that they weigh 37lbs each! I can't find a good looking, reasonably-priced set of wheels for this damn car! I looked at everything tirerack has and none of it looks very good. I'm getting frustrated.

Please post here if you've found some nice aftermarket wheels!

What style of wheel are you looking for?

I'd love to get a set of 20" iForged wheels but that's out of my budget.

I don't know, something decent? Black spokes with a nice polished lip would look pretty good. I had decided on these before discovering that they're really heavy.

Almost anything 20" is going to be heavy. Why not stick with 18 or 19's for some more meat? Ooo you're in my area, if you see a beat up 70's camaro wave at me i'll honk. I want a g8 so bad. Oh yeah, is there another car we can compare the G8 to in terms of wheels? Would wheels designed for a 4th gen camaro work for instance? How do you know what to shop for other than bolt pattern?

It's kind of funny to see someone bitching about heavy 20" wheels. I mean, what did you expect? Seriously? Unless you're buying performance track wheels, that happen to be 20"s (Not likely), or like someone else suggested, buy forged wheels (Far more expensive), you're going to get heavy-*** wheels. Slayn: In terms of comparible cars for the G8, look to the BMW M5, and the Audi A4, the Ford Falcon, the Chevrolet Impala.

The stock wheels specs are 19x8 +48 offset, 18x8 +48 offset, bolt pattern is 5x120

Tire Rack has 150+ styles, not too bad. You can also try superbuytires.com, 1010tires.com, etc.

I know more about old chevys, is 5x120 the same as 5x4.75 or do you need to get wheels specifically for 5x120? And whats the biggest you can fit in width for the back? 9.5? 10.5? What kind of offset would you need with a larger wheel, or what would be optimal? No one really wants their wheels to stick out, but I wonder how much space you have to stick a wheel in there.

Oh yeah if you want light wheels in a larger size you need to go for something specifically made to be light like these but I am not sure if these sizes would work.

One other thing to consider, if you can afford it (shipping would be pretty high), is getting some shipped from Australia. Holden and HSV have several different styles, not counting aftermarket.

I like the wheels on the GXP concept. I would keep those if they came out and maybe widen the back.

I think the BMW rims almost match exactly with spacing and offsets etc.

thats the way to go. 20s, and especially cast ones are pigs. IMO they look out of proportion on a car also.

A majority of 20's are heavy. You should be fine considering how much power the car has.

That is true, unless you go with a quality forged wheel. I got mine from Boze Alloys (zeforged.com) for my 1995 Impala. But remember, Forged=Money. I paid 3800 for my 20's with tires.
