I just don't think it would fit in on an otherwise refined sports sedan.
To each his own, I guess.

I would want my G8 to sound alot like the Pace Car exhaust that is offered for the Vettes...although I'd like the see the look on my boss's face when I left work everyday if my car sounded like that CTS-V!!!

Aussies build muscle cars that proudly wear the SS badge.

why make it obnoxious? you will just sound like you have more bark than bite, keep it mellow and let people get the snot slapped out of them by something and not realize what the hell just happened.

on my V I had a B&B 3" true dual, and it sound good, but I wish It would have been a little more aggressive sounding. I think a g8 needs a good deep exhaust, but defenitly not a lt's and offroad y with dumped bullets; good quality catback on some longtubes with highflow cats is what they need IMO

"But it's no BMW 5-series. You will see this preposterous comparison here and there in the automotive press -- words to the effect of "Pontiac G8: Bargain 5-series?" See, this is why you must control your intake of mood elevators before writing car reviews.
Australians would find this comparison wildly laughable, and usually they laugh only when someone is being kicked in the groin. To Australians, Holden is exactly where Chevrolet is in the U.S. marketplace -- mass-market, mid-price, working-class performance. In overall refinement, material quality, sophistication and -- most keenly -- ride and handling, the G8 isn't even on the same island-continent as the 5-series.
This is a common mistake people make, and when I say people, I mean GM. I remember Vice Chairman Bob Lutz going around calling the last-generation Pontiac Grand Prix an American BMW. As we know now, the Grand Prix was a BMW fighter as pointy wooden sticks are nuclear missiles. To invite such comparisons is to court disappointment. It's actually a disservice to the lesser product."

You can't be serious! 361 hp and 385 lb-ft of torque doesn't qualify as a muscle car? I suppose the 2009 G8 GXP with 402 hp doesn't qualify either?

The G8 is just too smooth and refined for me to call it a muscle car. I guess it depends on your definition.

I didn't say it wasn't fast - I said that I don't think it qualifies as a "muscle car". To me, muscle cars are rough around the edges, barely idle, everything inside shakes, breaks suck, poor handling, ect.

i voted yes, but on the same note obnoxious would not be good. ive heard a couple of chargers with exhaust on them and they dont sound too bad at all, and the g8 is supposed to be the rival of the charger and the leader of the american family sedan. my final decision, if you can find a corsa for it, which would give it sick sound outside, yet keep it nice and quiet inside, why the hell not?
