I'm not sure if anyone else has realized this or not, but Lingenfelter is offering a performance package for the G8 also.
Best I can tell from SLP's setup, the supercharged version package would cost $18,995.00, giving the G8 500hp at the engine, torque not specified.
Lingenfelters setup is also supercharged, that costs $10,995.00, giving the G8 505hp / 482 lbs of torque. LPE is also lists the rwhp numbers for us: 430/410.

Both companies offering 3year/36,000 mile warranties.
Save $8,000 and get the same performance all without the re-used Firehawk name!

Roughly same HP and Torque yes but not the same performance, price from Lingenfelter does not include suspension ($400.00 value), wheels ($1400 value), exhaust ($625.00 value), paint ($1900 value), spoiler($350.00 value). The firehawk is also CARB EO tested legal ($$$$.00 value if you live in CA). The firehawk also includes interior and exterior components like, badging, floor mats, head rests, car cover and other small extras ($450.00 value). Not ALL performance but added value for sure.
You can find all the details of the Firehawk here. Torque Included. (under order information)

Just want to make sure we compare apples to apples when comparing price.
Thanks

So it's an $8,000 difference, minus the extra ~$4600 in questionable options (wheels / paint / spoiler), so you're paying $3400 to be legal in California??? Thank God I live in PA.

Your rough math is off. And you forgot LABOR, the values above (minus the paint) do not inlcude any labor check around values I put in above are what similar parts go for on the street. I know the Alchemist can do get it done at home but labor is a value. What is your time worth. See my post a few back.
You are in PA. Come on down to SLP one weekend and drive the "questionable" options as you put it. The invite has been out there for weeks now. Take me up on it, free ride no pressure two car guys out for a ride.
Thanks

Hank,
Maybe I missed it in all these pages, but what was the rationale for using the Firehawk name anyway? Yeah you have the "rights", but what made this one THE one? Please answer that for us! I just cannot understand how this would be used on this car... Its just really not right... (my .02 obviously) I think the G8 looks ok with the mods, minus the paint on the hood and dont doubt that the work/labor on these cars is done well.
I along with many others on this board know what SLP is about or was about. I had a 99 Hugger SS convertable growing up and idolized SLP for making it.. Granted, the changes over a Z28 were modest at best and spendy. There was prestige in owning an actual SS, and put a smile on my face everytime I drove my car or saw one on the road.
I wish you luck with this, but I dont see how SLP plans to benefit much from it... A different name would surely have helped! The Firehawk name was a just a VERY poor decision...
P.S. Bring the car to MN for its "tour" and i'd love to take it for a spin and have a chat!

Now with Pontiac going the way of Olds, whats next... the Firehawk SS Cobalt?
SLP & Co, IMO you guys really screwed the pooch on this one. But hey, what do I know, I'm just a buyer, and you're a retailer...
[EDIT: Low coffee lights on and I can't spell]

why is everyone against this? i love gm as you can see by my list of vehicles, and am truly disappointed to see a bunch of lsx enthusiasts hoping one of its products would fail. who cares if they use the name... my firehawk was one of the best cars ive ever owned; my new g8 is an awesome platform so why not put the two together.

<- John -- '02 Hawk
Didnt read all this thread, but when I saw in Pontiac Enthusiast that SLP was making this was damn they must be hurting for money. As a current hawk owner I think this bastardization of the name is pretty crappy.
Whats funny is that I saw ASC had a firebird conversion of the camaro in the same issue. Which made the bastardizing of the firehawk even worse since it was apparent that a camaro would have been a better platform to rebrand as a hawk. Hell a solstice might have been even a better option then the G8, especially if it had a lsx in it
<-- stops beating the dead horse
