Default What kinda power are you N/A Stroker guys making?

Im now officially tearing my goat down and going back N/A, just wondering what kinda power you guys are making.

My setup is gunna be the same 408ci with the pistons swapped out to some nitrous/NA ones, a set of AFR 225's, HEALTHY cam, Kooks 1 7/8ths with O/R mids through mufflers with a ported FAST on top. Just wondering if I will end up around 500rwhp N/A or if that goal is too high.

I would like end results of 500rwhp NA, 750rwhp on dope.

Id think you would be a little over 500rwhp, sounds like you're gonna have a badass setup!

Tired of highway runs.

Do you already have the AFR's? If not I would recommend some TFS 235's

What kinda gains does the TFS 235's make over the AFR 225's?

460 rwhp here with a 402 with a small cam and stock intake and stock air box. You can easily be over 500 rwhp if you go for it to a nasty set up, this is my DD so I went small.

They make very similar peak numbers but the trickflows show a greater improvement in the midrange. I will try to find some comparisons when I have some free time.

500 is a very modest goal. i did it with a very mild 236/240 cam/unported FAST. AFR/TFS.........you should do it with either.

Get heads that flow 330+ cfm and a good 240+ duration, .600" + lift camshaft.

I make 554 wheel HP and 492 wheel TQ with 93 octane on budget components and have room to grow.

408 seems to be a popular size. But how much more is it to go 454 or even over 500? I haven't heard of to many goats with a 454 (a few) but none higher. Are we talking 20k to go that big on just the engine if done like a stroker? Sorry extreme noob here.

yes much more expensive to get to the 454 cubes you need the LSX block which alone is 2k prior to machine work...500? contact ERL for the billet block which IIRC is 5k

you can do 440ci ls7's....

then you need to spend BIG money on a top end for a motor that big....there aren't to many if ANY heads that can feed a 440+ ci LSX motor to their limits....yet.

i have the RHS 225 heads. i don't know if you can buy them new anymore.
i got them from a forum member in FL. he told me they only had 500 miles on them. i paid 2k for them, which, at the time, seemed like a good deal compared to 2400+ for AFRs, ETPs, or Trickflows new. so far i'm happy with them. some o' you guys putting down some BIG power na.........wow.

Jegten in New Mexico is building a 416 for his '04 GTO. Hopefully he'll get it in and fired up in the next few weeks. I'm looking for him to put down some sick power. He's going with a cam spec'd by Patrick G, i think.

Cam profile is going to be the deciding factor IMO. Depends wether your looking to get the most out of the car N/A or on the jug.
For instance I have a 416 build for nitrous and it only made 487 N/A though a 4k stall A4 but when we hit it with the 250 Fogger shot it made 756hp & 888tq.
Probably could have gotten alot more out of it N/A but would have sacrificed alot of power on the bottle.
