i dont know what a ds vette steering wheel is? If its some leather stock looking steering wheel that does not use a 6 bolt hub like this does, no that would require machining the steering wheel itself. This is an entirely machined adapter thats been wire edm cut to the correct spline size.

id be into buying a hub off ya.is there a difference in the patterns for nardi wheel and sparco? not that it really matters, just want to know before i buy a wheel while waiting for your hub (impatience isnt a good virtue,i know).also,is there a way to put on a quick release? or is that function part of the hub itself?

Damn that looks good! Did you make an adapter for the backside as well? To take up space between the hub and the column cover?
I can't wait to get mine and go wheel shopping.

this hub is drilled for a momo pattern/sparco pattern. I have a small spacer/adapter that changes the bolt pattern to a nardi bolt pattern. You can find them on ebay all day long for very cheap. As far as the quick release, a nrg quick release will bolt right onto this. Thats next en route more than likely.

This does not have any spacer for the rear though. We are putting it back on the lathe and taking some more material off the back side of it.

Its like driving a totally different car now btw, i forgot to mention that. Way more feel for the road and the steering is quite a bit tighter being a smaller wheel. Im contemplating adding a larger hub spacer to mine as well since i am tall. That allows me to sit further back and not have my arms stretched out as much.

Get a pic of you sitting with your left leg/knee propped up between the wheel and door with the door closed. I need to see how much more clearance you have to steer without moving your knee out of the way.

will do.. keep in mind, i have a racing seat and can move back quite a bit more than stock now.

Also these type of spacers will allow much more changes in steering wheel placement as well.

Keep in mind, there was another member on ls1gto(Drama).com who had a steering wheel hub. His was made using a NRG HK-100 hub (100.00) then taken to a machine shop (hot rods by scott) and broached to the spline. The guy was charging 300.00 to broach the spline alone. So the hub was over 400.00 after shipping and so forth. If it was fitted to the stock steering wheel size, it will have the same slop the stock one does, and the NRG hub is an aluminum piece. This piece is 4140 and WAY better made IMO.

This wire edm process to cut the spline was done with like a MEGA EXPENSIVE machine. So IMO this is a once in a lifetime kinda deal at that price.

This is a great idea and I would be willing to do it. It's just a good piece for the GTO aftermarket.

Frank,
There were only 2 made, RX666 had them made. He said that if there was enough interest he could get more done up. Send him a PM.
