Default New to the GTO forum...

Hey guys. I've been over in the truck forums for a long time. But this past Saturday I went up to Charleston, SC and picked up a very nice specimen. I found it on autotrader at Hendrick Chevrolet Friday, called to see if they still had it. They did so I put a binder down, woke up the next morning and made the long haul to go get it.

The car is a 2006 GTO, silver with red leather, M6, and has the 17s with the original tires. It was bone stock with 5,522 miles on it. It also came with a GM certified warranty of 12 months/12,000 miles. The guy that owned it traded it in on a new C6. He told the dealer that it had been garage kept and had never seen rain or snow.

I don't think I could be happier with my purchase and I hope to enjoy miles of fun and happiness with this car. I'm think about just leaving it stock for now at least until the warranty runs out on it. But I'll be looking into some Kooks longtubes with the catted midpipe and probably a Corsa or Borla exhaust before too long. For now all I'm doing is tenting the windows and hopefully getting some wider tires for it. I had someone tell me that you could fit 275s under it without any scrubbing issues.

But here's a picture I took with my phone yesterday. Enjoy

Congrats! Can't really put bigger tires on the front. For the rear... well... Some brands of 275 tires run narrow, some run wide. Generally, you'll at least need drag bags or Pedders/Lovells stiffer springs to fit 275 in the back. Some people also have to grind the inner fender lip or roll the fenders. In other words, 275 tires can be hit or miss.

Thanks guys. Yeah I really think I lucked up with this car. I was certainly worth the drive out to get it. I just couldn't believe it sat up at a dealership for 20 days!

And wassup cuz! lol

Pretty rare find you have there. That combo is 1 of 104 produced in 06, or 0.75% of total production.

Welcome to the herd!
