Type of Oil?
I'm getting ready to change the oil in my car for the first time. I know that it comes from the factory with Mobile 1 and that's the only thing that has been used in my car according to the service records.
Has anyone tried using the Mobile 1 Extended Performance? It's supposed to be guaranteed for 15,000 miles. What do you guys think? It's only $5 more for all 7 qts.
What oil do you guys prefer?

Okay, after doing some research, I believe i will be switching to the German Castrol 0W-30. I've been reading that Mobile 1 is crap.

AMSoil ow-30 is amazing stuff as well. My friend had it in his modifieed G35 and it went thru 15k miles of abuse and not a drop of it was burned and it came out barely darker then when it went in.
But i use mobil 1 every 5-7000 or so miles.

I use Mobil 1...I know plenty of guys that have well over 100K on their GTOs that have run it from day one. At the rate I put miles on my GTO, it will take me about 40 years to get to 100K, lol.

I use the cheapest oil i can find at wallyworld, i also dump an 8oz bottle of ZDDP every 3000 miles when i change the oil and filter and i have never had any problems with lubrication.
And for filters...I buy what ever is on sale, napa, purolator, mobil 1, etc,etc,etc,...
I purchased the goat new with only 5 miles on the clock, it has 55000 miles now, and i have opened my car up several times doing head and cam swaps and i have not seen any abnormalities inside the engine what so ever.
not even carbon build up on the valves.
I also use 1oz of sta-bil marine formula at every fill up, that helps to eliminate the moisture in the re formulated 10% ethanol gas we have now.
And i live in an area that's hot as hell 11 months out of the year...But that's just me!
Every body is entitled to buy and use what ever they think is best for there vehicle, i never knock any body down or criticize them for using any name brand oil or filter. it's your money, go for it.

2 oz. of Penzoil synthetic 2 cycle oil with every flip up to lub the fuel system.

I use the slippery kind ...
Prefer to run Renewable Lubricants Bio-Synthetic SHP Motor Oil SAE 5W30 PCMO and an Amsoil EAO filter, but lately I've been too preoccupied to order it and have used PP5W30 with a K&N oil filter as a fall back.
