Default finance a gto?

Wats up guys im new to ls1 tech and I just wanted to ask a question. I have been looking at 04 gtos the past couple of weeks and I have my eye on a certain one. Its a 04 black m6 with 40xxx miles and the dealership wants 14k for it. Im thinking of financing it and using it as a weekend driver. Just wanted to ask what everyones opinion was about ls1 goats and how well they drive compared to a f-body. Thanks.

They are slow, kinda heavy, and have crap suspension.

But I would totally take one over an F-body. For a DD.

Im sure you could get them down from that price.

Or at least wait until winter, i paid that much for my 05 back in 08 with 32k miles.

But then again i also bought it straight out.

If you plan on modding it starting with a 6.0 would be a wise choice.

I drive my GTO everyday, and love it. I also have a 6.0 though never drove a 5.7.

Over priced. Keep looking for an LS2 gto. You wont regret it. You can fine then a lot cheaper than that.

Don't do it.

Buy a Hybrid instead, much better gas mileage.

But....not as fun to drive as a GTO.

For a play car no, I'd get an F-body. IMO better looking, faster, cheaper and easier to mod.
If your DDing it get the 04. Hands down no question better riding, nicier and way more comfortable interior and better put together.

$14k toy car..................... I'd get a $7-8k F-bod and HCI. Or 97-2000 C5.
Oh if you can find a 05-06 GTO thats not smacked up, rebuilt or has decent miles for $14k buy it.

Where are all these magical $14k LS2 GTO's? Because I want one.
And someones 80k mile A4 with a flood title doesn't count.

If you have cash go to a dealer and offer them that much, after some haggling they will, well they should cave, since they will still be making money on it.

In 08 i decided on not getting a rebuilt title 06 and instead bought a 32k mile 2005 clean title 6 speed from a dealer. It was listed for 17.8 and it was "on sale" for 16.9 when i went to go look at it. 30 min later i bought it for 14k outright.

Bone stock needed nothing from the dealer, and i know they still made money on it.

These cars trade in for next to nothing, or at least they did when pontiac went bust. I worked at a joint honda/volvo/infiniti dealership and every single person that brought a GTO to trade in left after hearing what they would get for it. Which is a shame cause i told my boss that i would buy any 6.0 6 speed that was traded in for 1k over what they got it for the second it was traded in haha he was really cool with me cause they sold GTOs for a HUGE profit margin whenever they got one in, a few 5.7s every now and then, and usually they were off limits to employees because of that.

My 06 i paid a bit more for because i was in a hurry to replace my 05 and i didnt want to travel, but it was still a pretty decent deal at the time.

Still that was in 08 and 09, if anything im pretty sure the prices didnt increase since that time.

And for rebuilt title ones, well 2 of my friends bought crashed ones and fixed them up and its crazy how cheap it came out. Both are low mileage 06s.

If you can do that i recommend that otherwise just look around for a "deal"

Which year did the 6.0 begin? HP difference?

BTW, remember the dealer doesn't care if you finance or not... he's still getting a check from the finance company if you finance, it's not like he has to wait for monthly payments, lol..

Also, most dealers prefer for you to finance, since they make money on the backend when you finance...

Here's a couple that I'm looking at, seem to be good deals:

http://www.motortrend.com/used_cars/...nopaging=false

There also another 2006 black on black with 36k for about 16.9K

I was just about to ask that same question...then someone posted a couple of links, lol..

I jumped in this thread and got all excited but 2004's don't count, with less hp, etc..

I checked carmax, since they typically have low mileage cars and 2005's are about 18K - $21K, sh.it... a little more and might as well get a G8...

O-Five... Expand your search a little, there are 2-3 nice ones in Hollywood and Miami/... I just saw on autotrader...

Oh don't worry, I have probably seen them lol. I literally search every website about everyday. I have email updates of new ones that come up for sale. Only thing stopping me right now is waiting on getting the door dings fixed on my truck and putting the front fender liners back on and it will be up for sale. I know there is a black 06 (possibly one of the ones you are looking at) that has low miles, but it has red interior. I want the black interior and it has to be A4
