I hate the shape of the GTO...
Ok got your attention .. now seriously... I ADORE the inside of the GTO, I love the LS2... I just can't get used to the shape ... It doesn't umm, I don't know...
Anyone buy their GTO for performance reasons only and not into the shape / body style too much?
Flame suit on, lol... I LOVE the car, just want to get some feedback, I don't want this to become a bashing thread lol

well i think with the sap grille and bumper it really makes a difference. but i like the sleeper aspect of the car. i think more could have been done design wise, but all in all i think it is a sharp looking car. hell i bought one!

It can be aggressive looking when lowered, and with "Tasteful" aftermarket wheels.
Depending on what you like and what your qualms with the Goat, there are alot of parts out for this car to make stand out and look tough.
Buy a lightly used 10 Camaro or a G8, if you are not a fan of the GTO. Plenty of cars / trucks out with LS powerplants in em.

Its a bland car yes. But because of this it will age very well (i think so)
WHen i bought mine i knew it wasnt going to get a lot of compliments on the looks, but it did! I was shocked lol
But they can be made to look amazing. Here are some of my faves.

What size and type are those wheels. That is a sharp looking ride.

Pretty much my exact opinion. Its looks almost had me turn away, but the more I looked at them, the more i appreciated it. I especially like it with the SAP front grill, Side skirts, and a front splitter. I love the OEM 18's, but I can't seem to find many. The main thing that attracts me is getting a 12 or very close to 12 second car for around (sometimes less) then 15k that is so easy to mod and has a nice interior.

OP,
Have you driven a Goat yet? Driving one is probably one of the biggest selling points I could offer for the GTO. Many have opinions about the GTOs based off rumor or heresay. Actaully riding in one or better yet driving one, will many times seal the deal.
Offtopic: I think the White PSed GTO belongs to Flink on LS1gto. If you look him up you can get the specs on the wheels he runs. There is however a user over there running around with a GTO he did repaint white. It looks sharp if you happen to see it.

That is one thing i really wish the GTO had, and when i got it my beater was a 1990 volvo that had heated seats, it just seemed so unreal that the GTO didnt have them but i guess thats the one real shortcoming on the interior.

Doesn't get all that cold "Down Under"
I like the subtle styling of the GTO...a couple of tasteful mods on the outside and they look even better. Some tasteful mods under the hood and

Personally, I like the looks of the 2005-2006 GTO's. People that know about cars are aware of exactly what it is and what it's capable of. I get asked about mine all the time at gas stations, etc. Plus they aren't everywhere like the new Camaros.

Yes, I'm aware that the GTO has improved ride quality, more luxurious interior, and better rear seat room. I've been in a few of them. If you are looking for a semi-luxury coupe with plenty of *****, then the GTO would be a nice choice. I would have bought a GTO as a daily driver by now if I wasn't so uninspired by the appearance. But it's definitely not king of the bang for the buck LSx category.
