Some suggestions for a 2004...
I've tried using the awesome search function, but can't seem to find much for 2004 goats. I used to own a 2000 Z28, so I'm not new to LS1's. But I know mods are more expensive for these goats!
It's bone stock, except with stock mufflers taken off and straight pipes put in place by previous owner.
Some cheap and simple mods I am doing this weekend are:
*160 degree thermostat
*skip shift delete (that 1-4 shift is dumb)
*new plugs and wires
*SLP LM1 resonators welded in
Any other cheap and simple mods I can do before I start digging in with full bolt ons? Thanks!

Altho Lou's does give a shorter shift it doesn't address the lack of proper spring action to facilitate good 2>3 shifts. IMHO an aftermarket shifter should be the first real mod on a M6. Proxes shifter is a really good one at a reasonable cost with the GMM second.
The little bit of weight savings IMHO by gutting the back end isn't worth much. It removes safety features (bracing for the gas tank and the ability to change a flat tire) at the expense of losing weight at the wrong end of the car. You need weight back there for traction.

Those are great cheap mods. You can also use the balance of the Window Weld to fill the voids in the differential mounts for a "free" substitute to buying a poly one. Just make sure you give the Window Weld as much time as possible to cure before using it. 2-3 days is preferable.

There's a picture somewhere floating around of a GTO that was rear ended at high speeds and the brace flew completely out of the car and is laying in the road, gas tank unharmed. It weighs about 25lbs. I know i have an auto and they hook easier but, i have zero spin issues with all of the above removed. The spare has been removed ever since i bought the car and has just been sitting collecting dust. AAA is worth the fat cut imo.

you can do the coolant bypass reroute. basically you take the hose thats goin to the throttle body and move it to the hose on the other side of the throttle body is. That way you dont have hot coolant running thru your throttle body. I'll see if I can find some pics for ya. Anywho the most you'll spend is mabey $5 if that. Just do it before you start your car.
