Default Drag bags question.

SO..... http://www.bmrsuspension.com/?page=p...&productid=447 are these a decent product? I have some fairly nasty hop and want to cut it down as much as I can as cheap as I can, I already replaced the factory shocks with not much success (installed in a shop at a cost) simply because I am no car whiz and wanted to know how hard this install is going to be and if anyone has seen a tutorial on it?

They come with pretty good instructions but some decent mechanical skills will be needed to get the installed. It does involve using a cut off wheel or grinder to modify and remove part of the spring seat on the lower control arm.

They are a good product and will help eliminate wheel hop though.

Don't know where you are located but if you are close to 63755 I would installed them for a reasonable fee. I've done a couple of sets.
If not, hopefully you could find a shop willing to do it but I would say they will charge 4 or maybe 6 hours labor unfortunatly.

I've done both those and the Mazda MPV AirLift bags put in sideways. On the first install I hacked up all the bumps stops and such. After spring replacement I welded the bump stops back on and bought new pads and went with the MPV bags. They go in sideways with the air line sticking through the coils and no cutting. They've been in 3 years now and work well at the track. On the street I keep them deflated for a better ride.

If you go with the BMR bags, dont even mess with soapy this and soapy that, the easiest way to get them in,

Throw them in the Dryer for about 30 minutes, they will be hot, yes, BUT they are SO EASY TO MANIPULATE after that, the hardest part of my install was getting the springs out and in.

I found it easiest to squeeze them in three places, into a triangle, one i did that, i squeezed it together from the ends like and accordion and it worked great.

Good Luck!

i put my BMR drag bags in with the springs off. used a zawzaw to cut the little stoppers. But, JAX04 is right, heat them up and u can manipulate them any way you want and it makes for a really easy install. mine took about 45 minutes total...and that includes my smoke break

I have the BMR's, they were on the car when I bought it. I've been told to keep 5psi in them to hold them in place, and I have zero wheel hop. Haven't played with air pressure in them for racing. And I run Nitto NT555's btw.

These will help out a lot with wheel hop. I do not condone sticking them in the dryer, though. haha

What is the best modification to get rid of wheel hop? Im sure there will always be some but what have you guys have the best luck with. For street use, not just Drag Bags for the track. I have all stock suspension and the wheel hop is terrible off the line....feels like im gunna shake the doors off the car...

Honestly, their is nothing wrong with the bags for the street.

But, if you dont want to go that route, people have had amazing experiences with Gforce anti wheel hop axle kits. Its and upgraded axle set with a larger diameter axle on the passenger side i believe.

Why not? lol.

arent they made from polyethylene? i work with and fuse poly pipe and materials all day long, i dont think the dryer gets near hot enough to actually melt the plastic...

In pipe applications, i have to heat the material with an iron thats 475-525* F.
