Yeah, that's true. OP, If you want to spray some nitrous PM me. I can take some pictures of my hidden nitrous setup. Kit is pretty cheap as well.

All in all if you lose....that means you need to mod up and give it another go!

No, but the kit I bought is pretty cheap. I have a spare bottle and some line and a solenoid. And a jet....so I guess...that is most of the kit LOL.

Shoot me a PM.

I'd say that you will probably keep up if you guys are both experienced drivers... but if he can't shift very well, I say you come away with the win (from a roll). From a dig it depends, what kind of tires you have on your goat? And if you want a quick mod to add a little power before you race hmim just remove your magnaflow CB and run an open midpipe should add a little extra ponies. Open midpipe will flow much better than Any catback. And besides, even if you still lose... a goat with an open midpipe will sound Much more intimidating than a stock 5.0 GT
Good luck!

I wouldnt race him unless you want to lose. I have a friend that has a new 5.0 with intake, exhaust and tune that runs in the 11's. I have raced him in my G8 and can only beat him by 2 cars. You need full bolt-ons and a cam to beat a stock one. They run mid to high 12s stock with a good driver.

I raced a 5.0 Automatic at the track. I was stock, he had DR's. He out 60' me by .15 and only beat me by .15. Obviously a manual will trap about 2 mph faster then the 5.0 I raced, but I was bone stock (and a manual GTO will trap higher then me). VERY close race, we could have probably shook hands the whole way down the track. Then, there was also a manual 5.0 there as well, with the crappier gears (the serious 5.0's have the 3.73's), I didn't race him, but with the same 60' as me, he was running exactly the same and .1 faster then me..again I was a stock A4 LS2. Last time at the track, saw one running mid/high 13's w/out spinning. I'm guessing bad driver on that one.

Oh, and I have a buddy in SC, he has a 3.73 base manual 5.0. He ran in warmer weather and ran a 13.0 at 112. Very high traps in that one

I think you have a chance, sepending on that "conservative" tune you have. Better get a Vararam or Svede and get a real tune.

You definitely do NOT need full bolt-ons and a cam to beat a stock 5.0, lol.

I was at the strip last sunday and there was a new 5.0, he was running 13.30's. Not that impressive. Wish I could have matched up with him.

Depends on if he can drive the thing or not. Anything can happen since it's a manual. Did I ever think my car wit its minor mods stood a chance against a new 5.0? No, but I did beat one twice.

To the guys who want him to spray, how is that a win?, compared to his 1st post? I cant see his head held high knowing he sprayed in order to win..

What is so bad about nitrous? You paid money for a mod that increases your power just like any other modification to your motor, correct? If you think it's cheap or unfair that's silly because who ever is using it is just a person that realizes that you get a TON of power for how much you pay for it... who doesn't like to make MORE power for LESS money, right? We all want to win and be the fastest right? I fail to see how making a smarter decision is unfair.

Sorry to go off topic everyone, just thought I'd inform the misinformed!

What 13.30s @ 111 with a 2.3 60'? The mph tells a lot about how strong a car is. The ET doesn't mean much if the guy is spinning like crazy. I'm not defending the new stangs by any means and would never own or drive one but, i do have to give respect where respect is due.

I thought that was a little interesting as well...? Most likely an inexperienced driver with a manual, or crap street tires. Hell, maybe both hah.

Even if he shifted as best he could, the P.O.S. Getrag MT82 6 speed in the new GT 5.0 would probably just end up breaking hah. Ford decided to put a garbage chinese transmission in arguably their 'best' ^_^ mustang yet... sucks to be a Ford fan.
