Yeah I'm actually not happy with my times lol. I've heard a 112 trap is good for an 11.9, but I think the car has 12.2-12.3 in it. This vid is only a 12.6 or 12.7 run, however, it shows the same issues I have running the 12.5. When I run 12.5 is usually when I hit a 1.95 (not impressive) 60' time, but turn up the volume and you can hear my rear tires break loose on the 1-2 shift and I have to let off the gas for a second. It kills me every-time. I have vowed to not go back without some DR's and a stall lol. There is a local here who was running 12.3 in his LS2, with headers, intake, exhiuast, tune, and without a ported intake on slicks.

How effective would a cutout be with longtubes and a stock catback? Would there be a more noticeable gain?

Not if thats the only mods you have.

To really notice a benefit from cutouts, I think you need to have a pretty stout motor. LT's and a 2.5" exhaust isn't really very constrictive.

What mods do you have?

I was launchin off a 2step at 6k on slicks, and trying as best as j could to slip a stage 3 monster. Would pull 1.6xs or low 1.7xs.

After them cam swap, i only got to run a few times on et street radials and never got the launch dialed in....for some 1.9 60s

I picked up a huge 4hp with my cutouts and I still have the factory catback piping with the crushed section. They do sound sweet though

I had similar results. Headers, Speed Inc CAI, and 160 t-stat and I ran a 12.9 launching at idle because anything else would just spin. Bought some Nittos and it went down to 12.7. Swapped in a LPE GT2-3 and went 12.5. Swapped LS6 heads and it dropped to 12.3.

After a couple of cam swaps, I should be in the 11's. But I haven't been to the track since '06 but I'm making a lot more power than when I ran the 12.3 run.

All with the stock catback

With your current power levels it all in the 60'. Or in other words TIRES...TIRES...TIRES. Drag radials are Night /day difference at the track when compared to street tires. I know guys running low 10's through full exhaust.
