Installed some 2.5" cutous and headed to the track friday night. My previous best was a 13.2 @ 106 with a 2.0 60' on stock tires with a 2200 da. Friday night ran a 13.2 @108 with a 2.0 60' on stock tires with a 1160 da....so whats the deal here? Thought I'd do better...any suggestions? Thnx

The deal is, that for your mods, you don't have much restriction that you're bypassing...even if you actually had mufflers.
You have LM's, which don't cause any sort of restriction anyway. If anything, you're getting rid of the back pressure/scavenging.
You're not gaining any power by opening, just cool noise. I have them on mine and really don't notice much of a difference at the track with them open/closed.

Thnx for the input guys....just did some more weight reduction sunday. Removed the tank brace aswell as the v brace. So hooefully that will put me a lil closer towards my goal. Also thinking bout removing the skid plate just for track purposes.

The DA was better on your second run, that accounts for some of the mph. Launch also has a lot to do with it. A soft launch 2.0 60' will hurt trap, but a slight spin 2.0 60's will have a higher trap. A sticky launch can make your trap go lower too. Cut-outs really wouldn't help you at all with your set-up

Your best mod for the track would be sticky tires and supporting suspension mods. If you knock your 60' into the 1.8 range, your E.T will easily be in the 12s.

You need to work on your launch/driving. Even with stock exhaust with headers and a good tune you should be in the 12s at that kind of DA. Taking away weight in the rear will make launching harder and that little bit of removal in the front will do about as much as your cutouts. . . nothing. You also may find that adding more power may make the quest even harder as wheel hop and and other factors will hurt your ET even as your speed goes up.

Yeah I removed some weight from the rear (about 100lbs) and run with less then a 1/4 tank and is killing me. Last time out, I added over 100lbs to the rear. I still didn't do great, but I went a 12.56 at 112 and 1.95 60' to a 12.52 at 112 and 1.93 60'. Next time, I'm adding more weight to the rear.

Just to show it can be done this was back when I was headers and a GMM shifter on my otherwise stock '04. Track prep was excellent that day, tires at 24# and the DA was just under 1,000. Good luck. You'll get there.
