Mysterious, Unused plug under console??
Today I added a second 12v power port in the center console compartment. While I had it apart, I found an unoccupied pigtail, I think it was a white, three wire plug. Anybody know what it would have been used for?

Interesting, I am using this connector for my radar detector right now, I am adding gauges to the cluster area in a week or so. Should I tap the lighting wire off that or would it be better to take from the fuse box somewhere? I haven't looked at the wiring yet.

I will be keeping it mind for the future. When I first saw it, I thought I'd be able to use it for my second 12v outlet, but I wanted it to be powered all the time, so I had to tap into the console light, for power.

I really don't want to pull the stereo and upper console off. I have an Alpine S DIN in there. And when i installed it, I had to install the deck into the console shroud first, then push the whole assembly in to make it lock into place. So it may be a B1tch to get it off. lol
I will find the Brown/white and splice into it before it gets to that connector.

can i use this power source if I do NOT want the illumination to vary on the gauges with the dash lights, that. is, if I want the gauges fully lit all the time. if so, how would the install vary from what is pictured above? thank you in advance for your help.

You would just use the power and ground and ignore the illumination tab.
