Default So I made my first pass down the track!

So I made my 1st pass down the 1/4 mile track, now I race motorcycles but it's the first pass on my gto. It's a 04 with a lq9 in it stock driveshaft and axles and street tires. My ticket went as followed.
60ft-2.38
330-6.27
1/8-9.29
Mph-83.5
1000ft-11.88
1/4-14.0
Mph-105.5

Now it bogged bad off the line but I was told my car should mph more then that.
Opinions?

I see 13.3 in your future with a good launch and set of tires

Yea I plan on going out more with the car. It's almost time for the bikes to be torn back down, so now the car can get some track time.

I say your trap speed is pretty spot on given the fact that you have a heavier, less compression 6.0 than say your average LS2 that traps 106-107 stock.

My buddy's 5.7 is a auto and stock on street tires does 13.5-13.6 at the same mph. I also have a cam and a not so good tune. Could that be effecting my mph a bit?.

A stock 2004 A4 doing 105.5 is about 2-3 MPH faster than any I have ever seen. 13.5-13.6 though is dead on. At 105.5 you should be 13.2 or so. Your launch absolutely sucks, especially for an auto. When my '04 M6 was stock I could hit close to 105 and ET a 13.3x with a sub 2.0 60' on stock tires. You need a lot more seat time and get that 60' down and you can get around a 13.2-13.3

If you have a not so good tune why are you taking it to the track?

A not so good tune can make a car with the potential to trap 110mph run 105.

So yes, that most definitely is your problem right now. Although without knowing the size of the cam and the rest of the setup (like intake, intake manifold, exhaust manifolds etc.) we can't say what you should or should not run.

I went 14.01 with my stock a4 gto, so not bad really, you will gain up there in 13s soon with simple stuff tires and weight reductions.

Plan in doing a weight reduction soon, but got on vacation next week so it'll have to wait.

You really need more compression with that cam.

That's a very big cam!

Surely you're not still using the standard converter?
If you are I'm not surprised that it is so slow getting off the line.
