Default Airbag/pretensioner bypass?

GM no longer makes pretensionets for our cars. Has anyone come up with a way to bypass the pretensioners on our cars?

There is no-way to bypass the system without setting an airbag code. I thought the pretensioners were still available through special order.

You can add a 5.5ohm resistor to the wire, but you will be liable if someone is injured is a crash.

"The tech i spoke with yesterday said that the code would automatically clear itself after the defective/blown buckle was replaced. Apparently it only needs to see the correct resistance (5.5 ohms i believe) and it clears. The buckle the shop ordered me was defective (reading 17.9 ohms when connected) so the light was still on. They thought it needed to be reset and the guy came out to test it. He showed me how everything worked, all the wiring was correct, factory resistance was reading fine, but as soon as we connected the buckle it would be off".

Someone use to sell plugins that would make the loop so the airbag light didnt' go off. I'm going to try that 5.5 ohms for the seats and then I still need to figure out how many ohms is needed for the steering wheel since i run an aftermarket wheel with no airbag. Car doesn't have any airbags in it anymore. Need to order my 6pt harnesses here shortly once i get my new carbon seats.

Yes it will. It needs to see a specified resistance all the time.
