It is strange, but my fuel milage seems to me going up as my LS1 breaks in. Right now I average 17.2 mpg and it goes up every week. I used to get 14 when I first got it. Just curious if this is the norm. I do mostly city driving.

Haven't put but two tankfulls through mine yet, but I managed 1 MPG better on this last tank vs. the first one. I'm only at roughly 600 miles on the clock though We'll see how it goes after a couple K

18.3 when I pulled into the garage last night. My DIC is pretty accurate to what I get figuring the old fashioned way and actually is slightly pessimistic. So it could really be 18.5.
On the highway last summer when I took it our to Freeport, I got 26mpg.

****, I drove from Thousand Oaks to Long Beach and back last month on a quarter tank. Works out to be 140 miles round trip on 4.5 gallons...or 31 mpg.

I forgot to mention that on a few stretches of empty highway I ran it well past 100mph a few times.

HAHA, 100+ mph feels too much like cruising in these things. 100 feels like 80. 100 in my Z28 felt like....well 100.

Yup Ztwentyate, This car is soo quiet (inside), yet powerful and poised that triple digit speeds seem like what 55 is to most others.
Nicster,
That is "CAGS" (Computer Aided Gear Selection). GM has done this on M6 cars to help economy numbers. There is a certain criteria where it intervenes but it has to do with throttle position, speed and a few other things. If you goose the gas enough from every stop, you'll override it and it work intervene. Otheriwse you can get a CAGS eliminator and be done with it as a whole. Most of us here have overriden this annoying feature. I almost got T-boned in my Camaro one time because of it and I swore up and down to override it in any T56 car I own.

I just traded in my '04 with 10k miles on it. It was a M6 car too. I drove highway/city mix and I always averaged at least 20MPG. Strictly highway at 75-80mph I got 23-25MPG. Strictly highway at 55-60mph it would get 25-27MPG. All around town, it got alot worse but I never got 10-15MPG or anything like that!

Yea, I know the holes would still be there, but at least you'd be driving it.
