Pic of 2005 GTO sport appearance package
Don't know if this has been posted, but on the back cover of the Jan 05 Car & Driver there is a full page color picture of the new GTO appearance package. I scanned the picture but it doesn't really do it justice. Looks good with inset grilles, front air dam with what looks like brake ducts and 18" rims.

Awful.
The only decent thing about it is the side skirts. Otherwise it makes a handsome car into an incredibly ugly car. Wasn't Pontiac trying to get away from horrendous ribs and cladding?

Launching!
ive heard so much about the GTO's interior, handling, and power it makes me wana get one, but the outside is down right blahh.. looks like pontiac is doing what they did with the trans am, just adding needless body cladding.

I love the upper and lower grills but could do without the 'bulge' around the lower grill. The extra bump below the grills is nice, takes away a bit of the roundness. The skirts are almost as good as the HSV 'shark gill' style but if I knew of a way to get a set of those, I would. The wing and rear I could do without.
Here is a chop of a Monaro with the GTO "auto-x" front end and side skirts plus a set of aussie wheels.

Cut off the front end and look down the sides of the car... looks like a Monte Carlo, right. Look at the backend, even with the dual exhaust... looks like a Grand Am. I took the full size poster out of the Jan 05 C & D and did this, these are just two things I noticed while looking at the car.
I actually like the looks of the stock GTO for 05. I am not much of stock hood scoop fan for it doesn't look as if it flows with the lines, but the LS2 will make up a lot of what everyone has been complaining about.
