Would you go with a "new" 04 GTO with the ls6, or with an 05 GTO with the ls2? Lemme know what ya think!!!

depends on your budget and goals. for what you can pick up 04 GTO's for i'd opt for that and spend the money saved on mods or put it in the bank. engine was the ls2 is more like an ls6.5 . what options are available on the 05 that that werent on the 04?

Mainly appearance... I think! The 04 isn't much better of a deal. It's going to be the wife's car ( mainly). Maybe a cam and some headers in the future... nothing too wild. I think I'll opt for the LS2!

I'm assuming they'll be coming out with all the "go fast" goodies for the LS2 sooner or later....

if your not gettinng a much better deal on the 04 then the 05 your not looking in the right places. they cant seem too give the 04's away around here. they already have plenty of ls2 goodiess available. you should be able to get an 04, have lower payment, and throw on a maggie and come in at what an 05 would cost.

Besides apperance stuff and the LS-2 the '05 has much better brakes, upgraded rearend, and upgraded trans if equipped with the A4.

Yes, the ls6 is the 5.7 litre engine that's in the C5 zo6 and the CTS-V. The ls2 is the 6 liter engine that's in the 05 GTO and the new C6 vettes.

Speaking of liters, what happened to the good old days of talking about engines in terms of cubic inches?
