Default Best way to cure IRS wheel hop...

So I'm very new to this whole IRS thing and its kinda puzzling. What would you guys suggest the best way is to eliminate wheel hop and improve traction (without putting a solid axle in). I saw the airbags, is there anything else?

Drag radials helped get rid of it in mine. But now since the head install, I'm getting it back again. Air bags might be the next thing. If that doesn't do it, then I'll bushings. Then a sway bar. If all that doesn't work, probably go shocks and springs.

I plan on drag radials and all that, but the last thing when I take it to the strip is wheel hop. I might install bags before I take it out the first time.

BMR sells a "drag bag" airbag insert that only costs $100 and so far users suggest it helps a great deal. Plus reducing squat and giving a little more firmness to the rear seems to be helping drag launches for most using them.

I have a set but it's too damn cold out to fool with them for now. But for the money it's not a bad idea if you drag race frequently. Since the air pressure can be adjusted in them to suit your needs, the ride and handling can be set to ride like stock, or not.

I have some Hotchkis swaybars which seemed to help some. Mon or Tues I will be installing some BMR drag bags which I hear work wonders. If that does not fix it all I will be doing some bushing upgrades.

Well let me know how that works man... Love to hear progress and some insight from those with more knowledge. I was an fbody guy so I'm clueless on this IRS stuff.

Never had any wheelhop at all but with the stock springs and shocks the rear squats too much so I put Koni adjustable rear shocks and the Pedders drag springs which are stiffer than stock and about 3/4" higher. It hooks like an animal now.

What does it look like with the 3/4 inch hike? Off the topic, how's the A4 treating ya? Do you guys like these automatics versus the fbody autos? I blew up my 4l60e a million times it seems like.

Yeah I like the auto just fine. The 4l65e's seem to hold up better than the 4l60e's.

Drag bags are the flavor this week. For $99 it's worth a try.

I have rear konis on mine, and with a little adjustment towards the firm side it ate most of the wheel hop up, but not all of it. im in the process of getting a pedders kit ordered.

16 inch mt et street drag radials cured any signs of wheel hop on my car. As said already a lot of people are having luck with different shocks and the drag bags.

Thanks for all the help guys. Did I mention I love these cars. They are fast, but almost seem slow because they're so much more stable then my fbody.

My BMR drag bags should be at my residence in three days. . . I can't wait to install them. Only thing is now, there's snow and salt all over the ground!

The BMR drag bags work great, no more wheel hop.
