most owners are getting weights of 3700 -3800. our hawk's weight is 3680 so i don't get the complaints on the gto weight
Reg TA comes in about 3480. Not sure where that much extra weight in yours would be coming from...

Honestly I can't imagine why anyone couldn't like this car!
For most of us it truly is the styling. Pontiac would do itself (and us) a big favor to drop the split-nostril grill. It works better on the Solstice because it's farther down.

Not really. About the same weight of a fully loaded 2002 Trans Am or SS.

10. World's heaviest glove box door
09. No underhood light - c'mon what does that cost?
08. Damn floor mat connectors - completely useless
07. All the attention of the San Diego Police and CHP
06. Small trunk
05. A/C Compressor shakes the whole damn car
04. Slow seats - must have been a lawyer
03. Lack of options (sunroof, GPS, OnStar, tire pressure monitor, etc.)
02. Stock shifter - quite possible the biggest piece of crap ever, shifting a 1970 Ford F100 is more fun! Get the GMM - the SINGLE best investment I've made
01. Trying to decide what car to get next that is as comfortable, fast and doesn't cost a fortune.

gimme a reason NOT to buy a GTO. (...right now, there isn't much anyone can say to make me change my mind)

I love the car from what I've seen and read (haven't driven one yet) I just wanna be sure the goods still outweigh the bads...

The only thing that comes to mind right now is the heat soak the LS2's suffer from. If GM would of truely utilized the ram air scoops and designed a "ram air" intake, where the air filter is practically right infront of of the throttle body, like the way the F-bodys are, that'd be awesome.

The way it's designed now you seem to get alot of heat soak, and are more vulnerable to higher IAT's. Alot of people have resorted to cutting a hole in their inner driver's fender and routing piping through it and putting a cone filter on the outside of the engine bay.

Other than that heat soak, I'm completely satisfied with my GTO in stock form.

Yeah....the heat soak does suck, the recent heat wave here in Cleveland has turned my LS2 into a dog after sitting in traffic.

I'd say another thing is the fact that modding often means you have to get a tune to see any effect. It was nice on my Z28 to just throw on a lid and see the RWHP.....with the LS2 your just wasting your money on a CAI unless you get the tune.
