Nope, but that'd be one hell of a quick goat, and expensive.

Waiting ...Waiting...Waiting...for the Warhawk block and heads here. It's going to take some money but it's going to be worth it I hope.

You really gonna make that much power that you need the warhawk block? Why not just go with a sleeved LS2 and the ETP LS7 heads? Less money, less waiting.

The price for the Warhawk is right there with the LS7 so why not? Plus down the road I may want to swap out this power plant into something else. It might be better to go all out now then to have to do it all over again.

I've also looked into the LS2 combos. They aren't totally ruled out at this time. I inquired about the ETP LS7 heads but haven't received a reply.

It may be on par with the LS7 block, but it'll still be more than a sleeved LS2 block (which is stronger than the LS7).

Last i read the warhawk was still a ways off.

The LS7 is not worth the money, you can build something much better with how much they charge you for a LS7 IMO.

15K is a lot of money for just an engine. you could put money into the motor and some suspension stuff along with new rear gears and kazz LSD, and still have moeny left over and beat a LS7

so saying you have an LS7 is worth more than saving money AND being able to beat an LS7?

...and having it last longer and be more reliable?

you guys are victims of successful marketing and hype.

reliable? would the LS7 just plug and play as far as electronics? if so, then yes, if not, have fun wiring everything and getting the ECM to control it

If I were gonna put a 427 in my GTO it sure as hell wouldn't be LS7 based.

The drivability/reliability of an LS7/T56 setup would be awesome. Is it the cheapest way to make 500hp? Of course not. But you have to think about more than $/hp sometimes.

And yes, bragging rights would be cool too.

ummm, so why are so many ls7's having problems already?
they are less reliable than big CID LS1/2 solutions...
buying an LS7 is for one reason...so you can say "its got a LS7 in it"

How exactly is a block that has to be bored out, then heated up to right below the melting point, then has a new cylinder bore jammed in it STRONGER? I would think that the less you have to machine a block and heat it up the longer it will last. That and the LS-7 is built to handle at least 500 hp from the factory and the LS-2 only had 400 hp. If i ever do decide to build a big bore LS motor my money will go to the Warhawk block.

Considering the LS7 block isn't much more than a factory re-sleeved LS2 (and cheaply done at that) i'd take a darton sleeved LS2 over an LS7 any day.

id hate to tell you, but BUILT TO HANDLE and FROM THE FACTORY are 2 different things. just cause the LS2 came with 400HP doesnt meant that it cant handle more, same with the LS7. but, then your getting into the same LS1 and LS2 debate of power from the factory and building power
