Well the name implies that it is.. GT sanctioned.

Kids will be kids.. i assure you mine is driven, at most, spirited.
Of course it loves to be driven like a race car.. but its also quite tame when needed.

Uh, where'd ya' get that from? The LS1 GTO skips the torque management, electro-whackadoodle throttle and has an identical suspension, chassis, etc.
2 fake hood scoops and a change to the catback to give the 05/06s exhaust out both sides instead of true duals on drivers side.
Oh, I forgot, the LS2 cars get the grapefruit launcher tips on the pipes & the clutches melt easier.
If you are going to mod, the LS1 is easier to tune or drive before a tune, as the throttle doesn't FREAK when you change things.
I wouldn't mind the extra 18 cubes though!

long story short the stock ls1 block has a hole in it and is missing a piston. 408 iron block stroker should be in the goat in a month or less

I got that idea from all the TSBs and 2004 owners.
The ls1 is ok.. but the car had this and thats wrong here and there..
for example.. the 04-05 didnt have a door lock button.. but had power door locks..
as well as some actual failures in manufacture.

you dont need a button, if you pull up on the lock on either door the other one will unlock. say what you want, i love my 04.

Sure you don't NEED a button.
But it was obviously an oversight on GM's part.. they didnt intend to not put in a button.
FUrthermore. Short people would have to dislocate a shoulder to unlock the door and would never remember to lock it.

looks like performance wise you have a stock CTS.. its supposed to be considerably slower.. same drive train.. heavier car and all.
