2005 GTO vs 2006 SS Cobalt
#42
You guys even notice that the cobalt was not a supercharged SS ion the video? Congrats, dude...you killed a 15 second car in a modded LS2. Take a stock supercharged cobalt SS to the other track...you know..the ones with turns in it...I think you would be suprised at who is seeing taillights.
Nothing like beating a NA SS Cobalt at a dragstrip (where they are not designed to be) and braggin about it.
You guys should learn to respect a car for what it is and what it was built for...the S/C Cobalts are designed for Auto-X'ing, not drag racing.

Dude, I drove an SS/SC AT an autocross.....It was competent and handled pretty decently, but unless you made the course 2 inches narrower than a GTO, it wasn't something that would run away from one around turns....

I have owned and draged an '04 GTO and an '06 GTO. I now currently have a Coblat SS/SC. I can tell you that the Coblat is not a slow car and is FASTER than I got my '04 GTO too. A car with 250+ hp to the ground might not seem that great when you have 360whp...but when you drop 1000lbs........
Stock the SS/SC is not that impressive...but GMPP says don't keep them stock (and it does not void the factory warranty). They are running low 14s stock and in the mid/low 13s with JUST GMPP stuff.

I had the opportunity spend some time lapping at Pacific Raceways the other day, just me in my 04 GTO (with Pedders Street I and Hotchkiss sways) against a Cobalt SS/SC driven by a professional race car driver. He tried to catch me. He failed.

My 2006 Cobalt SS is much slower then my 2006 GTO. And the Cobalt SS isn't a 1000lbs lighter then a GTO. And the times you quote are at lower level elevations, with a low 14 being a very strong number that most Cobalt drivers won't see....

It's not that bad of a car really...I ran a 13.6 with a 3.0" pulley and intake on the stock 18's w/ stock rubber with a 2.0 60ft at HRP in good ol' Houston summer heat/humidity. Now I know that's nothing to brag about but considering they finally have HPT support, bigger injectors and the fact you can safely run a 2.6" pulley now (these were all unavailable when I had my Cobalt) high 12's is pretty easily attainable IMO. The unfortunate thing about the Cobalt is there are a lot of owners are young kids who aren't necessarily educated enough to take it to the track or mod them correctly.

My Cobalt is much slower than my '06 GTO was too...Another 40 HP and I think I will be right around where I was speed wise with the '06.

well just for reference here is me and dendyc racing from a dig. he was bone stock, with his GF in his car. at the time i was running stage 2, a not-so-flowmaster muffler, and ingalls engine torque dampner. ill let the video speak for itself, and please dont bring any of the "the goat driver cant drive. or he wasnt full in it." thats bullshit and our times speak for themselves. at this time his fastest run was 11.63 and mine was 11.37 on street tires in the 1000 foot.

but anyways, the only chance he has is to get alot of boost, sticky tires and a good suspension. he is going to need near 370 ponies to over take the GTO in stock form. now if you want to cheat have a nitrous system ready to go at the fli of a switch this way if he starts to win you can push your instant win button and take the fools money!

SS cobalt = LS2 GTO at the strip? I think not...
Launching your 13 second mustang on the street at 4k on et streets and popping wheelies?
And last but not least, a 370hp cobalt would walk a stock LS2 GTO all day long, no questions asked.
Teh Wicked im sorry to be an *** but you are retarded...
