Fastest drag cars in the world dont have turbos!!! U know what the got a belt drivin blower!!! They all work good its all preference. I have a blown TA,a nitrous GTO and a turbo lawn mower. I love em all!!! Just make sure u make it a clean install either way! Thats is what matters in the end!

Wow.. alot of UNKNOWLEDGEABLE turbo people in here..
anyone ever hear of PMEP?? and the STS kit doesnt have the benefit of actually using the heat energy like a typical turbo setup, so it relies completely on the pressure delta!!
Im not saying they are less efficient than superchargers.. but they are NOT as far away as you think!

Turbos have greater potential but nothing beats the delivery, or simplicity, of a positive displacement blower. Nothing.

Go Supercharger - Magnacharger
1- Easy to install that you can do it yourself so you save around $1,500 - $2,000
2- Fun to drive because you fill the power from low rpm
3- more HP and torque than many system under the hole power band.
4 -you going to love the sound under the hood (ask any one that have Maggie)
5 - I have the one that you are looking, low used, perfect condition and great price.

turbochargers if setup and tuned right can be monsters..... but w/o a forged bottom end your not gonna see their huge capabilities.
if money is tight then go either magnacharger or procharger, i chose magnacharger because mine is a DD w/ weekend 1/8 mile visits. i am getting ready to upgrade to the 122 here in a couple weeks should be fun!!!

That's one of the upsides with turbocharging..............no drive belts or drive system to worry about. ![Grin](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif)
Both forms of FI (turbos and superchargers) have areas which need careful attention in order to have reliable day to day operation.

Ok. Gauging from some posts here the turbo system is more expensive than the blowers but a basic STS kit is 4495 for our cars. Can anyone point me to a blower at that price? I am looking at both options right now. Not looking to get to 800hp but close to 600 is my goal.
