Flowmaster Muffler
I was checking this website to get some replacement mufflers over my stock ones. I'm really not looking for more power, I just want some good sound, I've heard a lot about the Flow 40's and 44's. Could anyone tell me which ones would be good for an 04 GTO.

But with my 06' GTO...
The GTO sounds great stock IMO. The 04' I am not sure about but the 05' and 06' sound sweet 'as is'. I even had a guy ask me last night what I did to the exhaust because it sounds great. I told him"stock". I love it.

Flowmasters and other chambered mufflers are so old school, and just boring IMO. The GTO deserves a much better exhaust that compliments the exotic nature of the LSx engine.
Just an FYI, chambered mufflers belong on redneck lifted 4x4 trucks.

People need to expand their minds when it comes to exhaust.
There are other and better muffler manufacturers than flowmaster. Like borla, magnaflow, dynomax, ect ect.
I do commend flowmaster on some badass advertising. I know a few people would don't have and have never owned a vehicle with a flowmaster muffler and they wouldn't look at any other mufflers than flowmaster when shopping for exhaust.

I do agree with you about different manufacturers. I like borla and the others but I was nervous about trying anything other than flows. What is the piping size on the stock 04, so I can look at some different mufflers.

I'd say it's probably 2.5-2.25 out the back.
I would be easy as hell for any exhaust shop to swap a bullet style or other small magnaflow muffler into your existing setup or custom catback all the way back.

Saying all magnaflows are quite is wrong because there is so many different mufflers they make, the street mufflers arent too bad.Its the circle style muffler that I have heard on gto's that I think are raspy, maybe im using the wrong adjective.. but I perfer the chamber'd sound on some applications. They keep a consistant sound though out thier life as well. his gto is probly the best sounding gto i have heard but it might be because of his x pipe that he is using. many use the magnaflow x pipe but he went with the summit racing x pipe.
