Default what parts do i need to drift offroad?

not all professional like,
but today i went to this empty one parking lot
and threw gravel everywhere
then i went to another that was blacktop
and slid for a long time and then ended up going backward while in drive
the car shut off
and didnt want to start back up for awhile
but with some throttle did.
when i left,
the car was rattling and squeaking
and then i found gravel in these things that connect to the wheels

what can i do to have fun in these lots,
cement, gravel or blacktop
without ruining this car?

wow. I suggest finding better ways to have 'fun' with your car. If you want to drift around parking lots i suggest trading your car in for a 240sx or a similiar car. But if you really want your question answered, go to www.corner-carvers.com...

For real though...

If you think playing in parking lots is fun, try doing it in a controlled environment. It's called autocross. www.autocross.com .. look for some local ones.

i say with practice time and set up you can get a car to do any thing. gravel is a little harsh (i personally favor the paint job) dry black top is really risky simply for the fact that you really have to be clipping along... that and youll go through alot of tires. i find the empyest most sacluded parking lot when its raining. you can learn to drift and controle it at lower speeds and you wont have to ruen your treds doing it.
set up will also play a big part so you might just have to lurn what thouse things that attach to the wheels are called and adjust them.
i do highly reccoment learning in a controled environmet (but it gets expencive, but still cheaper than tickets)
these cars can drift really well if you take the time to set them up and learn there 'tells'

There are certain driving behaviors that GM programmed
the PCM to deal with - "abusive maneuvers" or some
such. You may have run afoul of some of those. A hard
fore/aft jerk might even set off the inertia safety switch
that kills the fuel pump. But this you'd have to go and
manually reset in the trunk (?). Floored pedal has long
been a "clearing" signal for starting problems and maybe
overrode the study-hall-proctor-in-a-box.

But the gravel in the suspension has only to do with
the gravel.

Drifters play with the front/rear brake proportions and a whole lot of other things.

Don't do it on gravel, maybe do some research.

I cant believe I just read this. I must be getting old or something.
Drifting is:
1)NOT the fastest way around a corner
2)VERY abusive on tires
3)VERY rough on the car
4)VERY risky in terms of possibly putting the rubber side in the air
5)No matter how cool you look doing it, it does not increase your chances of getting any *****.

well i was doing it with my wife,
so its not about *****
and i dont wanna be a pro rally guy
otherwise i would have got an M6
and a car that is like 1000lbs less

you know, i dont do this often at all
and i dont think im going to anymore.
ive had this car for a year and my mods are minimal
i cant afford to fix broken stuff
should have thought about it before,
but i am glad that at least nothing went this time around.

maybe later when i have cash ill buy a 240sx beater to play with. again, i dont care to race around corners. i just thought its kinda cool to go one way when you face another. straight-line get boring after awhile, you know.

thanks for the references and the sense-talking, guys.
