Default Info on what I want to do.

So I've Been throwing around the idea on what I want to with my car. I want to have a set up for road course and be able to run the quarter. What type of suspension should I look into. I'm basically wanting a road course set up more then a quarter set up. So if any of you guys can point me into a direction that would be awesome... Also I'm not wanting to spend a million bucks on this eathier. Just something good for now and maybe in the future something better.

Thanks.

Common question ...

Really need to decide which venue you want to concentrate on.

What makes a car handle is typicaly heavy and controls weight to optimize twisties.
What makes a car launch straight and true are different and typically much lighter.

A compromise between the two will make both just mediocre.

Mine does decent with just shocks and sub-frame connectors. I also have good brake pads (HP+) and high temp fluid. Just do those brake changes and go get some seat time (with instruction). Then you will have a better idea of which way to go.

Well I wanna go the road course route more then down the strip. It's just that all my buddys are into 1/4 mile and I just want something that runs low 11's. But want it to run the road course with somewhat of ease.

Ok I'll so suspension and brakes. What br ad should I go with? I know alot of people going with umi. So what brake set up should go with?

Thanks again.

I'm new to road racing and Iv done drag racing for years my DDis a lightly modded 01 z28 and with miner mods i got it to handle really good (I think) and some small adj to the shocks and change the tires it runs mind 11s all motor

My set up is a 02 ls6 cam lightly ported 243 heads, pace setter long tubes, free mods and a custom tune

Stock t56 spec 6 puck sprung clutch pro 5.0 shifter

J&M lowers with relocate brackets, J&M adj panhard bar and strut brace, Lowering Springs, KYB adj shocks and struts, and Wolfe subframes

It needs better brakes im thinking or doing a c5 brake upgrade

Getting the car lighter will help in bolth drag and road racing, the stuff I put on my 01 DD was just stuff I got supper cheap from friends, craigslist eBay Exc. and it works I know there's allot better stuff out there but for now I'm happy with this set up for a DD hot rod

Oh wow looks like you have a pretty easy set up there. Thanks for the info... And I was thinking about doing the same conversion of brakes. Shouldn't be too expensive I don't think at least.?
