Default What should I do with my 5.3 ls with 76mm turbo

I just bought a 5.3 ls with a 76mm turbo set up for my 73 nova. I have a turbo 400 transmission for it and a built 12 bolt rear end. I want to make my nova the fastest I can for the street. The motor is bone stock with 120,000 miles on it. What size cam and other things do y’all think would give me the best set up for street. Also I’m thinking about swapping out fuel injection for a carborator. What do y’all think?

you are correct good sir. People will usually try and sell a truck engine by adding LS1 to their sales pitch.

A LS1 is a 5.7 all aluminum engine out of the base 97-04 corvette, 98-02 camaro and trans am, and the 04 gto.

your 5.3 is iron with aluminum heads(usually) unless its the H.O. unit.

But if youve got a "gen 1" 5.3 you probably have whats known as a LM7.

Basically the chevy gen 3 truck motor. Still a good engine, and can possibly be bored out to 5.7 liters if you really wanted.

It just helps to know what you have for when you search for parts.
