High Speed -100 Miles- Public road - BV100 ORR June 19-22 Here is true high speed long distance racing. The BV100 Open Road Race right near the Nevada and Utah state line, Total race distance is 100 miles on a public road closed down to the general public so you have all sides of the road to use.
Along with the ORR there also is 1 day of high speed practice, a 3,280 foot drag race where ET does not matter top speed does, carshow and parade lap around the town with your race car.
Within the ORR is also competing TEAMS, if you want to be part of ours contact me.
The road used has straights as long as 10 miles so it would be easy to hit your tech speeds of 165 MPH.
The maximum cars allowed to make the ORR is 200 so get registered ASAP, get your motel room reserved, plan your race method to win and then join us for 3 days of pure high speed fun.

These 2 leg ORRs allow one person to drive leg one, while another person is the navigator. On 2nd leg you swap seats and thus both get 50 miles to use their right foot.
Or be greedy like me and have no navigator so drive the whole 100 miles for yourself.
Want to go faster, add more safety gear as I have and feel what 190 MPH feels like.
They have 3 radar guns along the way, one is for recording your top speed thus you come home with a legal document showing the radar reading of your top speed
These ORRs are very expensive for the ORR hosts, just renting the road for the day is big bucks, add the costs for paying cops, fire dept, medical, 50 plus course workers with radio gear, timing sytems, renting meeting/dinner rooms, etc and these ORR hosts need our support by attending this year for if the car count is low, they lose and then we lose for the ORR hosts go away and we lose this type of racing forever, so everyone make an effort to attend an MKM ORR this year.
It's an American grass roots racing event we need to preserve.
Do not forget one of the ORRs will be 100 miles on the LVMS banked oval and having run that track in the past I can tell you doing 150 plus MPH on a banked oval is one experience you do not want to miss doing.

Re: High Speed -100 Miles- Public road - BV100 ORR June 19-22 Different in that it is a different ORR host and the 4 ORRs they put on use 4 different roads in Nevada. The ORR host is now MKM Racing where it usd to be owned by 2 time Indy 500 winner Roger Ward called C.A.R.S
One of the ORRs you may know of is called the Pony Express 100, which has been shown on ESPN and Speedvision.

John - by the way you may not remember but we spoke for about 45 minutes or so on the phone about 3 years ago. Let's just say we have someone in common near where I live that is NOT our best friend in the world....

I have recorded about 12 of the ORRs I have done but assume it would be one hugh video file to even crop a ORR video down to 5 minutes ?

Oh yeah, I'll be there! the car is getting the 10pt cage, seats and harness in it now. I got my entry packet in the mail yesterday. Jeff, in Boise even said he would sponsor me saving us BOTH 50.00 on the entry fee. So I figure I get to do the flying 1K for free. I am hoping to break 140mph in the 1k. Since I am a rookie driver I am limited to 150mph
, but Racehead up there did the NORC last may so he gets to tech for 165mph . cant wait to get there!

I hope this little get-together continues. I had heard that in Europe about 40 years ago, they would close down an entire town, and race through the streets, but that's not around anymore. Not sure on that though.

Yep, that's me! I heard just this week that another ZR1 owner took his car in (recently) to a local place to check out a noise in his rear. Turns out Tommy had put 4.10's in the car several years ago.
Hmm, noise in the rear turns out to be that Tommy STOLE the freaking rear out of the ZR1 and replaced it with a rear from an auto LT1 car (and the gears were 4.56's too!).
It seems every few months I hear more crap about that place...
