Default who here likes to autocross and dragrace???

the reason i ask this is because im curious to what your suspension set up is...i plan on getting my scca liscense in a year or two, and still love drag racing. my goal is to have a 10 second car that can pull a g or more w/ a good set of road racing tires. i think a good core is front and rear hal shocks. i will have a 6 or 10 point wolfe cage soon to stiffen things up. i have lca's already (should i get rod ends?), and a panhard rod too. i assume lca relocation brackets is a must? what is the best all around spring that wont be like 2"...my 315's will rub too much w/ that low of a drop. i heard the prokit is having some problems w/ sagging...how are the LG springs, or are the prokit springs a good bet. how about a tq arm that will hold a 1.5 or lower 60' time, then is good for autox? will a k-member and upper and lower a-arms help out a lot too? last question is what sway bars should i get for front and rear? all in all, i dont care if the ride is rough, but i want a car that can go quick around curves, then maybe adjust the hals, throw on some slicks and do well at the strip too...i know this is a lot to ask, and maybe im dreaming of an impossible task (i cant afford to have a drag only, then road race only setup for when i feel like it) but do any of you care to share your suspension set ups on this question who enjoy taking corners and lifting the wheels??? thanks a ton

It's funny you mention that because that's exactly what I'm building my car into - something that can handle both!

Though I don't think I'm really after a license, just want to be able to have fun in both worlds.

Sagging with the pro kit? Not on my car. I've put 37K miles on my Eibachs with no problems.

Getting into the 10's would take a lot of horsepower, expecially after adding all the chassis modifications. Take a look at my site on the link below to see the modifications I've made so far and the modifications I'm planning.

But I'd be happy with an 11 second car and .9g's, though. When I get there, I'll worry about going beyond that if I find out it's not enough.

I can't beat the feeling of diving into a corner heel-toeing the brake and gas, hitting the apex perfectly and keeping the car right on the edge of the four-wheel drift while steering the *** end out of the corner with the throttle!

To me that is the best feeling there is, being able to put 15-25 perfect cycles of braking, cornering, and hitting the gears perfect just to shave a couple tenths off your time!

I am sure that some people get the same feeling from carrying the wheels past the 60', but I have never had the opportunity to do so. If anyone wants to give me a ride in their car that will do that, I would do so with a smile!

You can do it, thats for sure. I think that Nineball is the best example here- M6, 3600+ race weight and pulls 1.4x 60's. Then , that same LG torque arm was used in 2 world challenge championships. Best of both worlds if you ask me!

I go to the strip once in a blue moon, but Im always at the road course. One thing that you will have to do is atleast swap slicks. I dont care what Road Race tire it is, its not going to hook. That being the only thing to change, it can be done

At least there is some common ground between us.

I have no SCCA license simply for the fact that I don't get to drivethe events enough anymore. I have two children, work full-time, and am going to school. I have driven at TWS, the police academy, and the blimp base several times each, but never bothered getting a license. Besides, the car I have would be in the modified class with cars I can't compete with.

BTW, all of the parts I have on my stang are the same parts someone would use on a drag race car too, except for the Koni's and sway bars of course. The tubular k-member, control arms, adjustable panhard, strut brace, etc.

My car does hook reasonably well when I put DR's on it and remove the front sway bar, but with the suspension set to raodrace there is absolutely NO weight transfer to the rear. Its ok though, I can make the car leave better than most people on the street so I have fun.
