Default Best Components for Sustained RPM? Drift/Road Race

I have been Drifting and Road racing localy with my 400whp Skyline powered Nissan 240sx, well recently I crunched it up at a local event and now im building another Nissan 240sx but the new power is coming from a 01' LS1 M6 out of a 65k mile Trans Am.

The help I need is every post I read someone suggests something different and I need something totaly differnt!

Specs & info:

~What Cam should I run? This is a TRACK car only and will be run between 3500-redline
~What springs & pushrods do you all recommend? Rockers?
~What oil pump?
~Do I need to do rod bolts?
~2800lb car
~I will NOT be pulling the heads or replacing pistons stock internals for NOW.

I know I will need to do a LS2 timing chain.

Please advise with relistic advice!

Here is some eye candy from one of our Phoenix International Raceway events:

Thanks, Jon

Consult Katech for a proper valvetrain setup.
Part of it is components. Most importantly is valvetrain setup.
Also, look into a roadrace oriented oilpan.

That's a very typical cam/spring setup. Lobe is a Comp XER.
I'd still consult Katech to hear what they say. http://www.katechengines.com/

you might want to go with a somewhat bigger cam since you'll be using it strictly for track and the powerband you mentioned. The spring kit they recommended is a popular setup. Like southfl suggested look into a race oriented oil pan, an ls2 at the very least it was revised for better oiling. On a na car I shouldn't think that you would need rod bolts. And a blueprinted ls6 oil pump talk to tsp.

If it's sustained high RPM, I'd go with an XE Lobe or a Lunati lobe (aka Texas Speed's old 231/231 cam) for less valvetrain wear- but that's just my preference.

Some good comments so far, you could check out the internal forum for some more specific internal setup suggestions.

Should definitely turn some heads with the motor swap combo, especially with the format usually dominated (in sheer turnout) from 4 cyl / turbo import motors.

Have fun...
