Default Any suggestions for a more supportive seat in my 4th gen?

As many of you know 4th gen Camaro seats leave alot to be desired in the lateral support department. Also not so great for 5pt harness.

Would stock C5 vette "sport seats" (the ones w the cut out to put the shoulder belts through) fit correctly, look like they belong there?

It would be great to have a stock appearing seat w power.

But maybe an aftermarket seat would be cheaper/easier.

Any suggestions?

Any pics of other seats in a 4th gen?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. This is a street/time attack car. I think this is the best section 4 this thread.

I have been very happy with my Ultra-Shield aluminum seat. However, it's a fixed back seat with no provision for rear access. It was just a few hundred bucks with cover and lumbar support.

Lightweight, folding seats that are seat back brace approved are quite pricey ... crowding a grand. I know Sparco makes some really nice "street type" seats.

Thanks. I am hoping to keep rear seat access. The main hold back I have from aftermarket seats is they look out of place in the car. My goal is to have a more supportive seat that the uninformed will think is stock. I have thaught about T/A seats, but they will look out of place (to me).

The 5pts hold me in well, but during "spirited street driving" (that I try to keep to a minimum) I flop all over in hard corners. Not ready to go full race seat yet, but need something w/ some bolsters.

Get a race bucket and just swap it out. Theres not too many options that I know of that fit the criteria.

Ultrashield:

I wouldn't put in a cheap or improperly supported/mounted seat. I have mine rigid mounted, with a back brace, and it is very, very, very sturdy. I think it is pretty comfortable all things considered, but YMMV.

Downside...looking at like $1100 by the time I have them in .
Thats y I was hoping I could use vette seats or something.
But If nothing else, I'll make these a priority for future income. My wife just spent $2000 on a leather sofa and loveseat. I'm sure she will understand.....

I think I read somewhere that Arizen is a good quality company that rips off seat designs from Sparco or one of the other companies... Same seat, different brand name, a couple hundred bucks in your pocket... You could even get matching rear seats, heated seats, and even vibrating seats.

only thing i can thing of that would fit what you are looking for is the Corbeau GTS II seats..

and if you want Arizen knock offs.. do a google search for "Mad Racing Concepts".. same exact seats.. no joke.. DEMONBIRD on this board has them.. for 2 seats.. 465$ shipped to your door.. in real leather as well.

A word of caution ... make sure these are solid back and solid bottom seats and not a tube frame covered in fabric.

I had a Corbeau that was fabric covered and it didn't last anytime at all.

WOW! They look like a VERY GOOD knockoff of a Recaro SRD/Speeds like I have on the driver's side. But I'm very happy with mine (I only paid 1/2 list for it, brand new!!).

I have a set Corbeau LG1 seats. They look nice and have a releasetoallow access to the back. they sit on sliders, which are also from corbeau. the downfall for me is that i'm 6'6" and they dont have any tilt to them like the factory seats did and i have too much leg for the car now.

Yeah, it's an aluminum shell with a cover that snaps on.

Here is a pic from the back:

The keyfob is actually for my LS1 Formula. The C4 keyfob has long since been sold, included the module that runs it...

The gauge cluster is the stock LT4 cluster, still mounted to the stock dash support. I plan to sell the cluster and go with individual Autometer gauges, but I don't have the money to waste on that at the moment...

Here is a recent pic of the driver's side:
