Default Camaro/Firebird Nürburgring lap times?

It seems that most car manufactures test their high performance cars at the Nurburgring these days so I was wondering if anybody has any idea how fast a Camaro/Firebird would lap the course?

A camaro driven by me on the Nordschleife, I have went 8:30 . I was not comfortable with myself going that fast and could not go any any faster . I reckon one of the ringers driving my car could of bested my best time by a few more seconds.

was the camaro stock or modified? I read that track has lots of nasty bumps, I would imagine if that car had stock shocks it would be a hairy experience.

I ran it back then with Strano revalved shocks and H&R Sport springs with Nitto RRII tires.

During the Driving days , you can't do a full blast lap. You do what is called a BTG lap. That also goes for the cars that get tested by auto magazines so you come up short by about 800 meters.
Of note Hans Stuck did the Nordschleife and the grand prix combined faster in a BMW Werks M3 V8 . THis is an additional 5200 meters. Talk about flying.
TOday looks to be a good day on the track.
This picture is updated every minute or so

Didn't the new C6Z do it under 8 minutes? It was like 7:40s or something, I know it edged out the Porsche GT3 by a tenth or something.

Hans Stuck is the F'in man!! Boris Said is BADASS too!! High speed roundy-rounds still get me a lil unsettled. I need ALOT more seat time.

That track is bad as **** though. Wish i could have the chance to run there sometime before i die.

I think the time that really stands out here is the 8:31 in a Caddy STS. 4 door luxocruiser in there with some pretty stout sports cars.

This one is even better:
8:29 --- 145.697 km/h -- Audi S4 4.2 Avant, 344 PS/1826 kg (sport auto 11/03)
That's a 4-door AWD wagon.

Have done it in 8:58. That is with a stock engine and on 245 street tires.

My buddy and I ran his stock 2001 Z28 M6 in the high 9's. But this was with other drivers on the track and having to slow to a stop at the end. I don't know how the hell you'd get a mid 8 minute time in a mostly stock F-body. That track is brutal, and extremely fun!

I know, not being able to pass someone "right now" can slow your times down a lot. Contrary, I remember that day last November where we were only about 20 cars the whole day! Still enough free space on the main parking lot. That was great!
