Default 370 Ci Build for SOMy Version 2.0! - iPics

Back history on my car.. 2002 SS SOM. Bought bone stock in 2009 from an older guy with 70k miles. Did heads/Cam/Intake/Spray in 2011. 100 shot. street raced it mainly.. kept needing(Wanting) more and more power so I kept upping the shot. finally after hitting it with a 275 shot for 3 years ringlands finally said no more lol Let th car sit the last year while I Built m 1993 z28. Finally starting on it again. Picked up an LS2 block and started unbolting **** this week. heres some progress. Motor will be back from machine shop in the next few weeks .

Car went 10.80 on old setup on a 100 shot. never sprayed more than that at the track(sadly)... Heres that Video:

Slip:

And heres what ive been working on .
P.S. Red Car has the transmission out .. need a T56 Bell Housing.. OOPS

Heres a Pic of my Motor before I dropped it off at the Machine Shop:

How did you get a ls3 crank with a 24 tooth wheel? Did you swapped the wheel? How did they resize the rods? Are ls3 rods not fracture caps?

I love the stripper pole in the couch area….reminds me of college. Those pistons look like the Speed-pro, I just put them in a LS2 I built for a friend….They measured and fit perfect.

There are now aftermarket bearings that exist that allow you to resize the big end of a cracked cap rod. The bearing outside diameter is slightly larger ( i thing .002) than stock. No cap cutting required, just hone it round to spec of new bearing and away you go. Do a search on here, I think the Clevite part # is 1776.

Seems like that machine shop is very reasonably priced. Should be a really fun car.
