So I am in the process of removing my front bumper. I have everything undone that I have seen in forums but there is one last thing that needs to come off. My bumper is ready come off but there is some sort of metal piece holding it on each side by where the quarter panel meets the hood and the bumper. It is by the headlights. Im not sure if that little piece is what is giving me trouble, or if it is that metal bracket thats attached to the headlight. Here is a picture of the piece that may be the culprit
I am in the process of taking off my front bumper to repaint it. I have everything undone except for something on each side that I can't seem to find the problem. Near where the fender meets the bumper, meets the hood, meets the headlight corner. It appears to be stuck on both sides but I haven't seen anything like this on any other thread. Anybody have an idea of what I could be missing? Here's a picture of what may be the problem. There's also a metal bracket by the headlights that appears to attach the fender to the bumper. I'm not sure what to do please help!
As you can see in the picture there's a small metal rivet or something that I think may be holding the bumper in place but I have no clue what to do
On my 97 LT1 it was a torq bolt, don't recall size. Follow the bracket to where it meets the fender. Have the headlight up to see it. What is in your pictures is where it attaches to the front clip - it stays in place.
I got it thanks! Finally figured it out; that's
In a very annoying spot. Now on the painting.... I think I'm going to use aircraft paint remover. There are two paint jobs on the bumper and sanding through it would take hours
