Default 1984 c10 LS3/60e swap

I decided to swap an LS3 into my 84 c10 that my dad gave me. He's the 2nd owner and bought it with 20k miles. It now has 420k miles and he decided to hand it down to me. I drove it some to high school with the Diesel engine and blew it up, now has a sbc 327. Pulled the 327/700r4 out and installed the ls3 with ICT swap mounts from Amazon. Installed the clam shells so the engine was as far rearward as possible to keep the driveshaft usable. Made my own harness from an f body harness and installed my own fuse box and relays. Had a v6 power steering pump, installed oring to 6an fitting. Since truck was originally a diesel, it has a hydrovac brake system that's always worked really well. Removed the pressure line and found it had 16mmx1.5 threads. Installed a 6an swap fitting and made a hydraulic hose for the pressure side. Using an inline 255 with vette filter. Pulling fuel after the dual tank swap valve. Hoping that won't be an issue for the suction or the return. Did some research and haven't found anybody that's tried it. Used a gates 20687 for bottom rad hose. Still trying to figure out top for diesel rad. Tried the f body headers and drivers side fit good but collector pointed to frame. Passenger side header would need some serious frame notching. I ordered the speed engineering c10 swap 1 7/8s headers and report back on fitment. Will get more pics soon.

Looks good. I would like to swap my 86 k10 pickup. I have been trying to figure out a EFI tank that will work, possably a 87 tank might. I'm interested to see how this setup works for you.

Here's a pic of my power steering setup. Just need to Y in the returns. I forgot my laptop so I didn't get to tune it, but it did pop with the vats still on. That was a good feeling. I'm also hoping the fuel system works. I have used the inline pump with a few Ls swaps with no trouble, until temperatures reach above 95*. Then they seem to get hot and quit working.

I used my stock pickup and a 340 Racetronix pump for my 87 build. (link in my sig with pics)

Got the headers in today and I'm impressed. I had done some research on speed engineering and found some good reviews on most their headers. But I haven't found anyone using the c10 Ls swap headers.
They look really good. Welds are really nice and finished. Got em installed and fitment is awesome. So glad I went with these over the f body headers. Didn't get any installed pics cause it was dark. Speed engineering has a really good product!

Got the engine running over the weekend. Had a problem with 3 injectors not firing. After 4 hours of checking plugs and wires, cleaning injectors, checking voltage, ohming out wires, swapping PCMs, and finally load testing the wires, I found the eBay ls3 injector connectors I bought had the terminals over crimped and tore the wires inside the insulation. Repaired the terminals and engine fired on all 8. Hooked up the PCM vss wire to the 91 suburban speedo and it worked! Just lack installing efans, making an intake, running power steering and hydro boost returns, and fabbing an exhaust.

Finished up the wiring and y pipe. Don't judge my green 90s, they were mandrel bent and "free" ha. Gotta flow master 3" in 3.5" out y. Wanted to use a factory Denali exhaust but the muffler was too big and would fit between ghe driveline and frame with much room. Gonna run a turn down for until I decide which exhaust/muffler to go with. Drove it down the street and everything worked good. Super happy to get back to running.

Got 700 miles on the swap now so I decided to Pick up a cruise control module. Wired it in using that schematic and it works flawlessly. It's pretty nice haven cruise on a daily even if my work commute is only 18 miles.
